"Laura, he probably didn't mean it."

 "He kissed her! How can someone not mean that!"

 "You saw her. She grabbed him."

 "Yes Lilly, but you're missing the big picture. He didn't pull away. He kissed her back before shoving her off."

 "Laura..."

 "Lilly, I need to be alone right now." Lilly sighed and nodded. She stood up and walked out of the guest room. Once she was finally gone, Laura snuggled up in the bed, and just let all the tears fall out.

~~~~~
Lilly walked down the stairs just as her phone started to ring. She didn't bother looking at the caller ID because it could only be two people. "Yes?"
 "Lilly!"
 "Jayce? What do you want?"
 "Lilly, please you have to understand. What happened at school wasn't my fault..."
 "I know."
 "But Lilly! Wait, what?"
 "I know it wasn't your fault."
 "You do?"
 "Of course. I know what a guy looks like when he's crazy about a girl, and you're crazy about Laura."
 "Yes! Thank god. You understand."
 "I just wish Laura understood."
 "Please tell me you didn't leave her alone."
 "Well, what was I supposed to do..."
 "Lilly. You have to check on her. What if she does something crazy?"
 "She's probably just crying."
 "Like that's any better. Look, I'm going to come over..."
 "I don't know if Laura wants to see you."
 "She needs to, she needs to hear this from me. Please go talk to her again."
 "You can come over and risk talking to her, but she needs to be alone. She's really hurt."
 "So am I. I saw her run off crying, and I tried running after her, but the she devil wouldn't let me. Please understand this. I just felt like hiding my face because I was so ashamed..." While Jayce was pouring out his heart, Lilly put him on speaker and stood in front of Laura's door so there's a chance she could hear this. "I never been this crazy about someone, but that bitch had to ruin everything! She kissed me and by the time I pushed her away, Laura was gone and I felt like a wreck. I haven't ate a thing ever since that moment and it's been like 3 hours. I hate this, and I want Laura to know how much this hurts me. I feel so terrible. I didn't expect this to happen. We were so happy today and that.....thing had to ruin it!"
 "Jayce, that was beautiful."
 "What?"
 "That you care that much about Laura just after a few days. It's amazing."
 "Yes it is, but what if I lost her?"
 "If she heard that, I don't know how you would lose her."
 "I don't know how either." Lilly turned towards the door, and Laura was standing there with mascara ruined all over her cheeks.
 "Laura, is that you?" they heard Jayce say over the phone.
 "The one and only who has been crying for the past 5 minutes."
 "Can I talk to you?"
 "If you want to risk coming here."
 "I will risk it. I would risk anything for you."
 Laura gently grabbed Lilly's phone and said, "Then get your ass over here before I change my mind." Then, Laura ended the call before escaping back into her bedroom. Laura slammed the door behind her, which surprisingly, left a smile on Lilly's face. 'Well done, Lilly' she thought to herself.
~~~~~~

"Did he really kiss that hoe?" Carlos asked Lilly as they cuddled up on the couch downstairs.

 "He didn't want to. She forced him."

 "God, I hate her."

 "Everyone does."

 "Surprisingly, even the 120 guys she's done it with hates her."

 "You counted?"

 "I was one of them."

 "You're such a dumbass."

 "Babe, that was before I met you. I was desperate back then."

 "Are you still desperate now?"

 "No need to be. I had to work my ass off to get you."

 Lilly smiled and kissed his cheek. "Did that work pay off?"

 "Hell yeah," he said, grabbing her and kissing her. When he pulled away, Lilly smiled and wrapped her arms around his neck.

 "I think I'm pretty lucky that I let you talk me into you taking me out on a date. I realized that you weren't such a big douche bag after all."

 "Most girls eventually come around."

 Lilly pushed him off playfully, and laughed. She stood up as the doorbell rang. "Must be Jayce." She ran to the door, and swung it open as Jayce ran in, almost knocking her over. "Jayce, calm down. Laura is fine. She's just sleeping upstairs."

 "That's what she said to get you out of her room."

 "Jayce, take a couple deep breaths before you go upstairs to her. Don't forget that she's pretty messed up, too." Jayce looked at her for a few seconds before backing up and sighing. He paced the floor as he was breathing.

 "Okay, I'm calm? Happy now?"

 "Yes, now go work your magic." Jayce chuckled and shook his head. He ran upstairs without noticing that Carlos was sitting on the couch with his button up shirt halfway unbuttoned. Lilly sighed and sat next to Carlos. "I hope everything goes okay up there."

 "Me too. They're the second best couple I know." Lilly looked at him.

 "Who's the first?" she asked, rubbing up his bicep.

 "Well, one of the people in that couple involves you," he whispered in her ear as he picked her up. She smiled and started to kiss him as he walked down the hallway to Lilly's room.

~~~~~~~~~
Jayce reached the top of the stairs, and he took a deep breath. "You got this Jayce," he reassured himself before knocking on the door. He knocked a couple times before he opened the door a crack. He peeked in and he saw Laura sitting on the window sill with her feet out the window. Before Jayce could come to any conclusions, he ran into the room, and grabbed Laura by the waist which made her scream. "Sh. Laura, it's me." Laura pushed him off her while she brushed herself off.
 "What the hell are you doing? Can't a girl look out a window anymore these days?"
 "You know what you were about to do."
 "If you're thinking I was going to commit suicide, then you're wrong. I was really getting some fresh air. As much as I want to die right now, I know I can't..."
 "And why's that?"
 Laura looked up at him and noticed he was really close to her. "You know why. I can't allow you to slip out of this situation that easily."
 "Laura, you know I didn't kiss her."
 "I saw you."
 "She kissed me."
 "You didn't stop her."
 "It happened so fast, I couldn't!"
 "Why did it take you so long to push her off?"
 "She kept fighting me. Believe it or not, she is pretty strong."
 Laura rolled her eyes and crossed her arms while turning away from him. "How can I ever believe you?"
 "You should because if I didn't care about you, why would I pour my heart out to your best friend? If I didn't care, I would be in someone else's bed instead of trying to get back with you."
 "We never broke up."
 "You know what I mean."
 "I do."
 Jayce gently grabbed her hand, and he was thankful she didn't pull away. "Can we sit down, please?" She shrugged and followed him to the bed. "Look, I need you. I need you to forgive me because if we're going to be together, we both need to understand, there will be other people hitting on us, but as long as we ignore them and focus on each other..."
 "I know, Jayce."
 "You don't know this," he began, shifting to get a good look at her. "You've been the first girl ever to make me this crazy. When I saw you run off earlier, I didn't know what to do. I just stood there for a minute thinking about how much of an asshole I am. I didn't want you to see that, and I didn't want to feel it. I want you. I don't want anyone else. I came here for a reason, and that reason won't change. I came here for you. You're the reason that I'm actually outside of my house right now. I didn't want to show my face to you, that's how ashamed I let something like this happen."
 Laura looked at the ground while she fidgeted with her fingers. "I understand."
 "Do you forgive me?"
 Laura looked up at him and shook his head. "I'm doing more than forgiving you even though this might be stupid." With that, Laura jumped in his arms and kissed him. She sat on top of him while she pressed both of her hands on both sides of his neck, and she kissed him deeper and more passionately. She felt him put his hands on her hips and lay her down. He pulled up from her and looked at her.
 "Are we okay now?"
 "Yeah, we're okay."
 "Good," he said, kissing her forehead.
 "Did you want to continue doing...you know."
 "I'm not sure if we're ready for this."
 "I've been ready for 17 years."
 "Laura...I want to wait until the time is right. I messed up with so many girls, so I want this time to be right."
 Laura smiled and hugged him. "Thank you for not being like other guys."
 "I don't like being the same as other guys. I want to be the good different that you need."
 Laura smiled and kissed his cheek as they laid back down. "You definitely are that."
 "Are what?"
 "You know what."
 "No I don't," he said, smiling.
 "You're the good I need."
 "Say that again..."
 "Jayce!"
Laughing, he sat up. "Okay, okay. Calm tiger."
 "You're an idiot."
 "As they do say."
 Laura sat up, trying to fix her hair. She stood up and looked in the mirror, pretending not to see Jayce in the background. He is so beautiful, oh my gosh. How did I get here? Why did someone send this beautiful, sweet, amazing guy in my life? I don't deserve it. When I'm with him... He's all I see.... "How long are you gonna play with your hair?"
 She turned around. "I'm not playing with it. I'm fixing it so I look decent."
 "You know there's no need for that, right?"
 "Yeah, yeah."
 "Seriously.
 She turned and looked at him with her messy blonde hair falling around her shoulders. "You're crazy."
 "Only about you." She just blushed and had no comeback.
