I swear I hear my phone buzz but there's never anything.

Sighing for the millionth time, I flick the iPhone to the side.

"Where are you?" I groan to myself, getting off my bed.

As I brush my teeth infront of the bathroom mirror, ready to end the night, my phone alarms in the other room. I spit and rush to pick up the call.

"Hello?" I try my best to sound like I haven't been running a marathon.

"Truth or dare?" The familiar voice asks through the speaker. I roll my eyes.

"Truth" I murmur. "Ever snuck out?" He asks. My eyes widen and I listen for any sign of my parents awake.

"Never" I whisper, putting my toothbrush away in the bathroom.

His grin is evident in his tone, "I'm outside. Let's go have some fun."

"Well aren't you bad" he teases, hands stuffed in his jean pockets. "Shh" I whisper, looking back to make sure the lights inside my house are off.

"C'mon" he nods me too follow and I take a deep breath before catching up to him.

"Can't believe you made me do this" I mumble, brushing shoulders with the blonde haired boy. "Y/n.." He clucks his tongue and stops to face me.

A light chill wind caresses my face and the street lamps twinkle the empty, dark street.

This town seems so abandoned. So quiet. Who knows who's out there and why.

I've never been the type to just walk about at night. Everyone should be cautious of that. And being a girl well..you get the reason I don't.

And I've never been the type to pump my adrenaline with the fear of getting in trouble.

His dark eyes glisten under the yellow lightbulb of a streetlight, melting into my soul.

"This may be one of the best nights of your life" he gasps, throwing his black hood of his jacket over his head. "May?" I cock a eyebrow, sinking into my sweater.

"I promise you'll have a good time" his voice softens, looking down at me.

I gulp and glance back at my house. It sits hiding in the shadows of the street.

"Fine" I manage up the courage and he blinks before grinning.

We continue down the sidewalk, a car or two speeding by. I constantly scan the area, tensing when a corner arrives or stack of bushes.

"Where have you been for the past week?" I ask my best friend since grade 1.

He smirks, zipping up his jacket more.

"Tell me" I press, wanting to collide my body with his for warmth.

Okay, so maybe I have a crush on him. ...It sprouted in grade 6 and now were fresh out of high school. Some feelings just never die.

"Went to LA" he bites his bottom lip, a smile hiding beneath it. "Wait, what?" I ask surprised, glancing between in front of me and his presence beside me.

"Why?" I question, totally confused.

A car strolls by us, headlights catching us for a second before leaving us in the dark.

"No reason" he shrugs, prominently hiding something.

I stop and stare after him.

While I stayed a well mannered, behaved child, he's seemed to stray on the outskirts. It's not that my gorgeous bestie is a scary guy, he just likes adventure.
