Chapter 21

Ashton's P.O.V.

I woke up with someone shouting in my mind, 'Alpha. There are some rouges near the borders of our territory.' A pack member, patrolling said. 'Are they inside our territory?' I asked. 'No, sir. They are on unclaimed land.'

'Tell me if they move into our territory, if they do, attack.' I linked him. I could hear him gulp, 'Alpha, they requested your presence.' 

I was no fully awake, 'Keep an eye on them. I'll be there in a couple of minutes.' I growled. I wrote Eleanor a letter telling her I had Alpha duties. I grabbed my basketball shorts and quickly went out of the house.

I shifted and ran towards the West of my territory. I shifted back into my human form and put on my shorts.

I was surprised to see Rouges laying around on the floor, looking bored. They seem to acknowledge my presence and stood up. "What do you want, rouges?'I growled.

Now that I observed closer, I see that their eyes are red. It looked natural. My eyes widened, red-eyed rouges.

"You have something that we claimed." He said. I narrowed my eyes, "She isn't yours." I said, my wolf taking over.

"We claimed her before you did." Someone besides him said. "Your mark is just temporary." I said. A rouge chuckled, "We can make it permanent."

"What about her dying?" I nearly choked. "If you don't give her over to us, she'll die." Another rouge said.

"Why do you want her?" I said, trying to keep my wolf from taking over. "She's a hybrid. Hybrids are unusual these days."

"There are many other hybrids in the world, why just her?" I said. "Why would we go around the whole world when we already found a hybrid?"

"If you want her, you're starting a war." I said, my wolf's voice lacing with mine. "Then war shall it be." The rouge in the middle said.

My wolf just wanted to go across my territory line and kill them all. "Until next time." The rouges said, then disappeared in the shadows.

I balled my hands into fists and punched the nearest tree. "Train the warriors harder. Make sure they rest, but not too much. We need to be prepared when they come." I told a pack member. "Yes, Alpha."

I dismissed them and shifted into my wolf.

Once I came back it was sunset. I grabbed basketball shorts that we stored in a tree, and walked into the pack house.

When I entered, I saw everyone pacing around the sofa, making me go a bit dizzy. They all looked at me when I entered, "Ashton, Eleanor's been kidnapped." Was the first thing I heard from someone.

"WHAT?!" I yelled. "How?!" I said, trying to stay calm, but failing miserably. "A few hours after you left, the girls went out without our permission. She was kidnapped in her own room. Somehow some rouges got in. Addison says that they heard something pounding on the floor and went to investigate. Once they come up to her room Eleanor was gone with the window wide open. They also left a note, but none of us gets it." Elliot explained.

"Where's the note." I said. "Right here," Elliot replied, digging through his jeans pocket. I opened the piece of paper, 'You asked for it and got it.' 

I crumbled the piece of paper and threw it somewhere on the ground. My thoughts were just on Eleanor, how we're going to save her, how we're going to find her, track her down. My wolf somewhat calmed down. 'We're going to find her. We'll always protect what's ours.' I said to my wolf.

I was angry but sad at the same time. Angry because I let he rout of my sight, and sad that she was away.

I sighed and pulled my hair, "It was this morning when rouges came near our land." I started. Everyone was listening by now, "The rouges wanted Eleanor because she was a hybrid. I don't know what they want with her but they won't give up." I said.

"The rouges that was in Eleanor's house probably was the same rouges. The red-eyed rouges."

"You mean the one that bit her while she was sleeping?" Rae asked. I nodded. "They said they can stop her from dying, but we think we found another way also."

"Then what does the note mean?" Addison not getting it. "I wouldn't give up my mate for anything, the only was to solve this was war." I said.

Everyone stared at me, some gasped. "Like in any rouge attacks, women and children will be in the safe place while warriors will fight." I said.

"Starting from tomorrow training will be required to all people eighteen and up. Addison, Skylar, and Roxy may join if they would like too and is fine by their mates." I added the last part.

"We'll be having a meeting in ten minutes." I stated. They all nodded. 'Meeting in the living room in ten minutes. I will not tolerate with anyone lagging behind.' I said through the pack link. All I got was 'Yes Alpha.'

True to their word, they all came in within ten minutes. I announced that we had started a war with the rouges and the new training times for the wolves of age.

I also listed out some of the few things to do if they ever encourter a rouge. Mind link anyone immediately, or directly link me. If suddenly rouges attack, women and children and people who are not of age to fight, will go to the safe house which is an underground tunnel.

It was like a lounge in the safe house, but not as cozy as to the one on this floor. So everything was prepared.

I dismissed my pack and started heading towards my office.

I planned out who was going to do what. I worked until it was midnight. I would have stayed up longer but I was extremely tired.

I went to the bed that I placed in the office, and surprisingly I could catch a faint smell of Eleanor's scent on this bed. This made things a bit more better for me and my wolf.

I sighed as I deeply breathe in the scent of my mate. "Don't worry Eleanor, I'm coming as soon as I can." I whispered to myself and my wolf.

That was the last thing I said before I fell asleep in the scent of my mate.
