They had been walking around for a while without meeting the monster. They may have met a few terrified people, but most of them didn't appear to be the least aware of the situation.

While they were walking, a little girl wailed, "It killed my dad!"

Nick and Feline exchanged glances. The monster had killed a person. They increased their speed and finally reached the control room.

Inside, they just guessed which button meant which and finally figured out a way to broadcast an announcement.

"Attention to the citizen of Paragon. There is a monster out there in the form of a giant ginger cat roaming in the mall. It feeds on your fear to stay alive, so just be brave and it won't harm you. Who here is afraid of a cat, anyway?!"

There was a chorus of yells outside the room, most courageous, some frightened, and some was confused. They turned off the speaker and exited the room.

They had succeeded in closing all of the mall's exit to lock Cladz in and they had also succeeded in planting a tracking device on Cladz without him realizing.

A few minutes later, they heard siren outside the mall. The police were there.

Feline and Nick smiled to each other. Finally, the day was going to get better.

"Hey, Feline, where are your parents?"

"They are on a meeting. It's a good thing they are. If not, they will be worried sick about me going missing."

They both laughed and rushed to the front doors to let the police in. It was also a good thing that Cladz didn't have any thumbs to grip the handle of a door, let alone open the doors with the keys that were in Nick's pocket.

He was getting weaker and weaker and less and less people were afraid of him. Some of the children were even taunting him.

From the tracking device they had taken from a supermarket, they could see that Cladz was pacing back and forth frustratedly in front of the mall's east door, trying in vain to open it.

They opened the door for the police and they all rushed in before Nick closed the door once more.

He spoke to the Chief Police and told him about the monster's appearance and its whereabouts. Their plan was to kill him on sight at the command of Nick, because they said he would know when the right time is.

They all proceeded to the east door. There was a large amount of cops, maybe about a hundred. The Chief said it was because of terrified citizen's report and the fact that the monster had killed 37 people already.

"Thirty-seven?" Nick asked, surprised.

"Yes."

"Then let's finish this monster," Nick said confidently.
