Cladz let out a searing scream that pierced through everyone's heart, but they stayed where they were.
He screamed in agony again and again. Between his screams, he managed to say, "Stop! Nick! Stop! Forgive me! Let me live!"
He was clearly in pain and he was fading by every second.
Suddenly, Feline broke into a run, to the direction of the monster.
She hugged his furry body tightly. "I forgive you," she whispered. "Please, don't die. Stay with me and be my kitten."
Cladz opened his eyes that were turning a dull blue. He blinked in gratitude through midst of pain.
But a single wish, said with a pure heart and love, was enough. Cladz shrunk to the size of the kitten Nick first met and Feline held him tight with love.
"Thank you," Cladz said. It took a few moments for her to realize that Cladz had just spoken to her telepathically.
Everybody looked at her in amazement. Some were in tears. The police officers put their guns down.
And Nick stared at the kitten in Feline's arms as he listened to his head talking.
"The curse. You'll always forget."
And with that, his mind went blank once more, his memories of the monster erased.
Feline happily ran to Nick, holding the equally happy kitten tight.
She smiled at Nick.
Nick stared at the kitten confusedly, "Where did you get that?"
"Excuse me?"
"Where did you get that kitten?"
She stared at him with her mouth open, unable to think of what to say.
"It's the curse. He'll never remember," Cladz told her.
Feline laughed. How could he not remember?
"I found him outside. His name is Cladz."
He nodded once, then looked around. "What's happening here? Why are there police officers?"
Once again, she laughed.
"It's a long story. I'll tell you on the way to the hotel, yeah?"
Nick just nodded.
