They arrived at the location and the police officers looked at the back of the huge monster for the first time.
"I-it's huge," the Chief commented.
Cladz stood up and turned around swiftly to give the police officers a frightening hiss.
Some of the rookie officers screamed in fear.
The voice in his head said, "Fear."
"Oh, no."
Cladz laughed once more, gaining his strength back.
Feline whispered urgently in Nick's ear, "We haven't told the police his weakness."
"Sir, there's nothing to fear. The monster is weakened," Nick said in order to calm the Chief who happened to be right beside him.
The monster lashed at Nick, "Weakened, huh?"
Cladz picked up a little girl no more than ten with his enormous claws.
The audience gasped.
The girl's mother, rushing to her child's aid, jumped up to catch her, but it was no use.
"Don't kill her!" she sobbed.
"Oh, so now, you ask me not to kill while you bring these men to kill me," he replied sarcastically. He ripped the girl to pieces and her hopeless scream echoed within seconds.
"Humans," he continued. "When will you learn your lesson?"
The girl's mother cried bitterly on the floor. Everybody looked at the monster in either fear or anger.
"No, no, no!" Nick shouted. "You shouldn't be afraid of this monster! Be brave and he'll be nothing at all!"
The Chief looked at him questioningly, "What do you mean?"
"He feeds on fear and if you don't give him his food, he'll die," he raised his voice.
"Just shoot him already!" the girl's mother shouted.
Gunshots echoed through the mall as the police officers agreed. Everybody fell on their knees, closing their ears.
After a few minutes of blindly shooting, Cladz laugh still survived. "I'm already dead. You can never kill me twice."
Everybody was visibly trembling in fear right that moment. Only two who weren't.
Nick shouted once more, "Be brave and he'll die! Believe me when I say this: He can die once more!"
Some of the people regained their courage and stood up bravely. Cladz visibly weakened.
Seeing this, more people joined in. They stood up, facing Cladz with a look of determination. Some kids had to be convinced that the monster was harmless. Soon, the entire crowd was standing up bravely.
The one thing they didn't notice was that Feline was too quiet.
