a/n: Yo yo yo peeps,

I don't know if I'll be able to update every day from now on, I start my second year of school/college tomorrow and I think it'll be a busy time for me. Anyone else who's starting school or has already started? It amazes me that 8 weeks of vacation always goes by faster than 9 months of school. *sigh*

Anyway, I'll try to update 2/3 times a week from now on! Don't forget to vote and comment like crazy! x

We sat in silence, Harry keeping his eyes on the road and nowhere else. When he reached the driveway of my house, of Niall's house, he stopped the car and turned to me.

"You have to work again tomorrow, right?" He asked me.

"Yeah, from ten till six."

"Alright, I'll pick you up then, if you want me to, we could get someone to fix your car after work."

"Okay, thank you." I smiled at him, which he did not return. He was looking at my house, staring almost. I got out of the car and waved at him before he drove off, leaving me by myself.

When I looked up at my house, I noticed a figure standing in the upstairs bedroom, in front of the window. I took a deep breath and walked up the steps of the front porch. When I opened the front door, Niall was already standing in the living room, waiting for me. We were silent for a couple of seconds, just looking at each other, both knowing that the other knew.

"I recognize that car." He spoke, looking down. "I've sat in it quite a lot."

"Harry's a really nice guy." I replied, not really knowing what to say. Was he sad? Angry? Angry because he felt like I stole his best friend?

"Yeah, he always was." He looked up at me again before dissapearing, like smoke being taken by the wind.

--------------------

I was sitting on an old chair, outside on the porch. The sun had already set and the weather was nice today. Not too cold, not too warm.

I held a glass of wine in my right hand, taking a sip every now and then. The chair was creaking dangerously as I changed my position, sitting cross legged.

How many people had sat on this chair before? Had Niall's mother sat on it when Niall was a small boy, waiting for him to come home from school? Had his father sat on it while his wife was cooking dinner and his son was playing around in the yard?

Who would be able to do something so insane, so deranged? To kill an entire family in the most gruesome way, leaving their bodies there to rot? Was it really like Niall said? Had the killer cut off Bobby and Maura's fingers and lips because he was consumed by jealousy?

Anyone could've done it, like Niall said, his parents were well known in Mullingar. They took in everyone who needed help. Anyone could've done it.

I wanted to help Niall, I wanted to help him find this person, help him find the person who slaughtered his family.

But how could I do that if I had no idea how to?

--------------------

It was almost eleven pm when I turned around and something caught my eye.

There was black dust, powder maybe, peeking out from under the doormat. When I took a closer look, I noticed there was a very thin line of the same black powder layed out along the front side of the house. When I walked around the it, the same line continued it's path to the front door again.

The line was drawn around the entire house, no interruptions, just a straight line that was following the frame of the house.

What the hell?
