How To Be a Friend

2nd period. So many more classes left!! At least it's Friday. Ugh! I sneak a quick look at my phone, it reads ";)Ethan;) : Hey meet me outside for break :)". Ok well I guess I'll have to hurry. Of course the bell rings as I'm thinking about hurrying. Late to my locker, as usual. I grab my jacket and run down stairs to the door. Where is he? I walk outside and someone grabs me and covers my eyes "Guess who?!" says the unknown person. "umm Ethan?" He let's go and smiles.

"Damn Chloe, how do you always know?" He has the most beautiful smile ever and the cutest freckles. "Im a genius i guess. What did I need to hurry out here for?" I said. "I don't know. I just wanted to see you", he said grinning "is that such a crime?" I laughed then sighed. I think it was to loud of a sigh he was looking at me weird. Oh, well!

Neither of us talked for a while. I looked at my phone. The bell would ring soon, we better get going. We hugged and went our separate ways. While getting my books from my locker I couldn't stop thinking about how weird he was acting. He is never quiet like that. I wonder if somethings going on at home but him and his mom are so close. Must just be having a bad day or something.

School went by pretty quickly next thing I knew I was out the door with my friends Claire and Addison. After school, 3 person party. It's a crowd!

We got to Claire's house and started our homework. I didn't have any except to read my book, so I could do it on Sunday. After all, homework is a Sunday problem.

Finally they finished and we could talk. Claire started with her usual "Soooo How's Life?" (classic!) We all laughed. "We could just look at each other and start cracking up." I said. They both laughed. "Soooo Chloe" said Addison "I saw you and Ethan hanging out during break today" I felt the heat rush up to my cheeks. I laughed to hide it. I hope they didn't notice. Then Claire said "OOOOH!!! CHLOE AND ETHAN SITTIN' IN A TREE. K-I-S-S-I-N-G!!!!" I rolled my eyes they were so immature.

"Ok, you caught me", I said "I like Ethan. I have for while, but I like being his best friend. And I think he likes Isabelle." Automatically my mood dropped. Addy and Claire started to talk about science stuff. Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah. I pulled out my phone and texted Ethan "Hey Ethan, what's up??" I put my phone back in my pocket. He always takes a while to respond.

5 minutes later I got a text from Ethan "Hey my beautiful bestie. I just got home." He always knew how to cheer me up. I texted back "Cool...Who do u like? Just wondering."

He didn't respond. He never does when I ask those kinda questions. Me, Claire and Addy decided to go outside and annoy the neighborhood.
