Sitting at my small table, I folded scarves and fabric. It was all that my father worked for ever since he was banished to the 'other side', he claimed. But apparently they spat him out because his soul was too black for them. So now, we are banished to the Isle of the Lost with all of the other villains. My Father is one of the most dangerous villains because he still has links with the 'other side'. We can barely sell any scarves and fabric. Only the desperate buy from us.
I got up from my rickety chair and hung up newly dyed scarves. It was a deep purple with golden embroidery on the edges. Why wouldn't anyone want to buy it? It was beautiful and the intricate patterns made me wish I had it.
"Piper, I need you to go around and sell them" my father said. I looked over to him and noticed that his hair was more gray than usual and he has actually shaved his mustache off. He isn't as fashionable as what he was a few years ago but he was still my dad.
"Yes Dad" I muttered back.
"Oh! And don't forget your voodoo doll. It'll keep you safe and may soak up some small sprinkles of magic as you walk around."
Dark magic is rare on the island but lucky my voodoo doll has some.
"Yes dad. Love you." I gave a small peck on his cheek before grabbing the basket of scarves and my voodoo doll before running out of the warehouse and into the light.
"Scarves for sale! Golden embroidery included!" I yelled. The area was dirty but there were still people who were trying to keep it in good shape.
"Scarves for Sa-"My chants were cut off by a scream. I turned around and pulled out my voodoo doll, ready to stop the intruder, but I stopped short. Mal, Evie and jay ran around causing havoc. They walked on tables, swung on ropes and climbed the roofs. I watched as they did all their work. It was a masterpiece. Looking around, I tried to find one other person. And there he was; Carlos.
He was stealing some apples from unsuspected workers. I couldn't help but admire him. His white hair and mischievous smile kept me going. I never knew it.
"Wow..." I whispered. At least that's what I thought. They all stopped and looked at me while evil glowing in their eyes. I loved it. They all looked at each other and silently talked to each other before all running away down an ally.
That was probably the most attention that I got from them. They don't notice anyone because of their parents. Mal is the daughter of maleficent, Evie is the daughter of the queen, Jay is the son of Jaffar and Carlos is the son of Cruella De Vill. They're the people that run this place. It's shame that my father can't be a part of the group.
"Piper!" I heard a deep voice yell. I spun around and saw my father jogging over. "Are you ok? I heard that those pesky thieves were stealing and being undeniably trouble-"
"Dad! Stop. They did nothing. They just..." I stopped and remembered when they actually looked at me. I felt a flame light inside me.
"They did what? What did they do, piper?" dad asked.
"They noticed me, dad. I was noticed."

Home is a small warehouse on the outskirts of the island central. There weren't normally a lot of people around our area thankfully.
I sat on my bed and looked at my voodoo doll. A few stitches were unraveling but I fix it with a little chant that doesn't use much magic. The button eyes stared up at me and the broken heart on its chest held three pins. I have never used it on someone but I don't plan to just yet.
My window began to rattle as the nightly wind swept passed. I quickly bolted up and carefully opened my window, trying not to wake my father. I climbed out and walked up to the top of the tin roof. I just sat there and looked out. The main island of Auradon glowed with colorful lights and the large kingdom sat with only one light on.
"Pondering? Or wishing?" I voice said, startling me. I pulled out my voodoo doll and held a pin near its heart, ready to bring pain. I looked behind my in the darkness and saw a dark figure.
"Who are you?" I asked in my darkest voice. The figure gave a familiar laugh and came more into the moon light. The light outlined his features and made his freckles stand out. His grin made my heart leap and his faux dog tail hanged off his belt.
"I come in peace" he joked.
"Carlos..." I whispered.
"That's my name! And you're piper" he said, outstretching his hands to the side like he's presenting himself.
"How do you know my name?" I asked. No one knows my name, just my face. My bright emerald eyes shone like my fathers and my vest, purple bows and my glowing purple stone was enough to let everyone know who I am.
"You were the one who watched us today. I could see the evil glowing in your eyes but everyone else said that we needed to be careful. But I saw who you truly are" he said. He came down to my level and looked straight into my eyes.
"And who am I truly?" I asked quietly and with a flirty tone.
He gave a laugh as his eyes glided over my face before stopping on my lips then back on my eyes. "That is for me to know and for you to find out."
He sat down and pulled me down with him. We just sat and looked at the main land. There was no need to talk.
Once the sun had fully set and the stars were out, we lay down and just watched the stars. We were lucky we could see them because everyone said that you couldn't see them in Auradon.
They all sparkled in the sky and I could make out a few of the constellations.
"There's Leo, Gemini and ursa minor" I said, pointing out the stars. I love star constellations because no matter how old you are, they will always be there. It's what my mother told me when I was 6.
"They're beautiful aren't they?" Carlos asked, tilting his head so he could look at me.
"They're more beautiful than anything in the world" I said, not taking my eyes of them. They all glowed together and made me wish that I could reach up and get one.
"You're more beautiful than them..." Carlos whispered. I felt my body freeze with shock. I have never had anyone say anything like that to me before.
I looked over to him to see him gone. I quickly sat up and looked around, realizing that he was gone.
Did he really say that? Or was I just hallucinating? Whatever it was, I was up all night thinking about it because I think I was in love.
