"Now Piper, this weekend is Parents and special friends weekend. I thought we could retry doing it since the last one was a bit...of a mishap," Fairy Godmother said.
I sat at my desk with my books on the desk and my pencil scribbling out a fashion design for my next textiles assignment. It was unusual being in this class since Carlos, Mal, Jay and Evie all passed the 'good persons' class, making me the only one attending it.
"Since your father is on the Island, then I believe that you could Face-Chat with him."
I head perked up at the thought but a scowl glossed its way onto my face. "Uh, No thank you."
Fairy Godmother took a step back in surprise and her eyes narrowed and searched my face. There was a simple explanation. I didn't want to see him, talk to him or have anything to do with him.
I stood up and gathered my books before she could talk me into talking to him. I quickly walked out of the room and went to the library where Ruby would be.
I never understood why they wanted us to video chat with our parents. It would've been nice if they asked first instead of barging in head first to get the idea shot down as soon as you say 'go'. Maybe I shouldn't have said no straight away. At least lunar and I was stopped from blowing up the television.
I pushed through the large wooden doors to the library. The scent of new books floated into my nose and pleased my senses. I immediately saw Ruby in the corner table along with hunter because of her bright red hair ribbon and the obvious flirtatious whispering into each other's ears. I slipped past chairs full of students studying and book racks.
"Hey stranger" Hunter said. He looked up with his deep brown eyes. He was defiantly Robin Hood's son; ash brown hair, strong build and his favourite green parker. Carlos had doubted that he was his kid, but now that I was friendlier with him and knew what his father looked like, there was no tiny doubt that they were related.
"Nice to see you too Hunter" I muttered. I slammed my books onto the table and earned a few evil eyes and swears from other students. "Hey Ruby."
"Don't interrupt me" she quickly said as she wrote furiously. I thought she was going to snap her pen by the amount of pressure that she was putting on it.
I looked up at Hunter who shook his head and went back to writing notes out of a textbook. I looked at those two and admired how they were a cute couple. They both loved the woods and grew up around them anyway. I even saw a small box of tiny cookies that they would've shared. How adorable.
Being a sneak, I quickly got a couple of cookies and hid them in my lap. Luckily they didn't see me. I chewed on them and was in awe. Some were chocolate chip and raspberries, some were triple choc and some were jam and cinnamon. Whoever cooked those had a golden touch.
"Hey guys," a quiet voice said behind me. I turned around to see Jessie smiling at all of us.
"Hey Jessie" Hunter and I said in unison. Jessie looked at Ruby with worry but hunter quickly cut in. "she's in the moment." Jessie nodded her head understandingly.
I looked between them with an evil eye. "Is there something I'm missing?" I muttered.
"When she's in the moment, she has an extravagant idea and so she has to write it down in detail otherwise it doesn't work" Hunter said. "And your evil eye is terrifying by the way."
I laughed at that. I'm glad that I still have a bit of evil in me but not as much that will completely corrupt the world – just enough to keep me satisfied and to keep everyone on their toes. "Thank you hunter. I truly love compliments." Hunter chuckled. Everyone got back into working whilst I got back to eating the cookies and gawking at their flavour.
