The morning after the Geosenge Contest began inside Hotel Marine Snow, where the quiet halls still felt colder than the sunlight outside.

I woke before breakfast because a soft knocking moved through the hallway, followed by a nervous voice asking whether anyone had seen a lost pouch. The hotel had strange rooms, old stone walls, narrow corridors, and mirrors that caught the shapes of Geosenge Town's ancient rocks from outside. After spending the night there, I understood why some guests imagined more than what was really happening.

Serena stepped out of our room with me, still tying her ribbon while Fennekin walked beside her feet. "Someone lost something?" she asked, keeping her voice gentle enough that the frightened guest did not panic more.

The woman in the hallway nodded quickly. "It has my travel charms inside. I know I left it beside the bed, but the room feels different every time I look away."

"It probably shifted under something," I said, because the last thing she needed was someone laughing at her fear. "We will help you find it."

Pikachu balanced on my shoulder and looked carefully down the hallway. His ears twitched toward the strange draft moving through the stone corridor, and his meaning reached me through the way he stayed alert without letting sparks rise. "Something feels unusual, but she needs calm before answers."

That was exactly what Hotel Marine Snow seemed to test. It was not about battling, speed, or showing power. It was about staying steady when other people were frightened, finding lost items without making the guests feel foolish, and respecting the old-stone atmosphere without letting it turn into panic.

Clemont checked under the hallway table while David examined the doorframe where the pouch might have been caught. Elline used Rotom's light to brighten the dim corner without making the room feel harsher. Serena knelt beside the bed and reached under a loose quilt that had slipped between the mattress and the wall.

"I found it," Serena said, lifting the pouch carefully. "It was caught where the blanket folded down."

The woman's shoulders sagged in relief. "Thank you. I thought this place was playing tricks on me."

"Old places can make people feel that way," I said. "But that does not mean you were wrong to ask for help."

The hotel manager had been watching from the end of the hall, and he approached us with a grateful smile. "That is exactly the answer I hoped to hear. Hotel Marine Snow has served travelers for generations, but Geosenge Town's stones make even brave guests uneasy at night. You handled the quiet fear without dismissing it."

He held out a small badge shaped like a pale spirit flame framed by old stone. "For your night service, for helping with strange rooms and lost items, and for calming guests without panicking yourselves, please accept the Ghost Hotel Service Badge, the Ethereal Badge."

I accepted it carefully while Serena smiled beside me. "Thank you. We will remember what this one means."

The badge felt light in my hand, but its meaning was heavier than it looked. Some fear did not need to be defeated. Sometimes it needed someone to stand beside it until it stopped growing.

After breakfast, we stepped outside Hotel Marine Snow and found Geosenge Town almost shining under the morning sun. The stones still rose from the ground like old witnesses, and even after earning the Ethereal Badge, I could not shake the feeling that the town was connected to something buried deeper than anyone wanted to say.

Before I could think too long about Team Flare's dead-end clue, a familiar voice rang across the street.

"Hey! You are those Trainers from Route 5!"
