Annie's POV
I have no idea how can a weekend go by so fast. I swear to god just yesterday was Saturday and now here I am, stressing over the fact that finals will start in less than two weeks. I'm sitting on Mina's couch, the rest of the class group is here, Eren, Mikasa, Armin, Sasha, Connie, Jean, Marco, Ymir and Christa. EVERYONE is here, trying to study, and I'm pretty sure a few murders or suicides will happen tonight.
-Hold on! It shouldn't give you this!- Armin starts shouting Eren, tired and stressed blue orbs in his face, Eren's teal greens were angry and his hair was a total mess, he has been trying to understand the math class current subject, but to no avail. And to relieve stress, without trying to punch something, he just muffles his even louder screams into a pillow and grasps at his hair.
-My head's going to fucking explode...- I hear both of them mutter, already pissed off at their ridiculous shouting contest, I stand up and grab Eren by the back of his shirt. Everyone else turns around to look at us as I drag him across the room, he doesn't even flinch, he doesn't move a single muscle, and they all follow us to the backyard of the house.
Once we're standing in the middle, I let him go on one side of the yard, he stands up, confused, I take a few steps towards the other direction, they're all standing in front of the door, silently awaiting for something to happen. I raise my hands, curl them into fists, and take a step back, it took him a second to realize what I wanted him to do, he stood in the same position I was in, and we began fighting.
The first one to try and hit was him, I quickly stopped his kick with my arm, I pushed his leg down and when I tried to kick his feet, he jumped. Bad move, I placed a hand on his chest and slammed him down to the ground, keeping him in place as he struggled to get rid of my hold.
-Annie stop! Why are you two fighting?!- Mikasa demanded an answer, stomping her foot to the ground with rage, I looked her straight in the eyes, I still kept on holding Eren down, until he suddenly shouted the answer to the math problem, my gaze then turned towards Armin, and he slowly nodded.
-That is... correct... b-but how?- He started muttering, I let go of Eren, and I heard him gasp for air a few times, I stood up and helped Eren too.
-This is a method I use to teach Eren, it seems he thinks best when he's in danger, but we haven't used it since months ago- I explained, cracking my knuckles as everyone else gulped, except for Mikasa, of course she wouldn't like me beating Eren up, but it's the way he can learn, and we're kind of in a rush now.
-Armin, I want you to bring the book, tell an exercise, I'll solve it- Eren told him, I could see the smile full of determination, a spark in his eyes, he wanted to learn this, one way or the other. As Armin asked, we kept sparring, the others continued studying on their own, it wasn't until we finished that we took a break.
-You guys coming in?- Armin asked us, we both looked back and shook our head, I could tell he was very tired after the workout I gave him, we were both exhausted, laying down on the grass, the soft night breeze hitting gently against our skin, eyes gazing at the starry sky.
-You know how your father is?- He asked me, I shook my head, and my hand traveled down to my right pocket, I awaited every second for a text from my mom, to see how he was, if he even survived the operation or not, before I even grabbed my phone, I stopped moving my hand, even if she did send a message, or tried to call, I wouldn't like to read it or hear her.
-Hey, it's alright- His voice got me out of my thoughts, I looked down to realize he was now holding my hand, a soft smile across his face as he looked at me.
-Yeah, I know... I'm hungry, lets see if we can order pizza- I suggested, he nodded and we both stood up from the ground. After ordering the pizza, and struggling with what it would have because no one would shut up and speak normally instead of goddamn shouting, we all flopped down on the couches.
-You know what would be awesome? Have a few beers, too bad no one brought- Connie spoke, his arm laying back on the couch, with Sasha laying face up across his lap. Next to them was Marco and Mina, pretty sure those two are up to something, Ymir and Christa on the other side, then it was from left to right, Armin, Mikasa, Jean, Eren and I.
-Well, if that's what you wish...- Jean started to speak, a smile full of pride in his face, he got up and walked outside, less than five minutes later, he returned with a few packs of beer in his hands, one could see the wide smiles spread across everyone's face as he handed a beer to each who wanted, the only ones who didn't grab a beer were Armin, Christa, Marco and Mina.
-You might be an stubborn horse face, but this was one of the best ideas you had up until now- Eren complimented him, Jean ruffled his hair with his free hand and smirked, even if these two had many hit-you-in-the-face moments most of the time, they can actually have a few moments as good friends, surprisingly.
Soon after that, the pizza guy came, we all paid and once he left, we started eating the pizzas, laughing, making fun of each other, and chugging down the beers. Most of us didn't want to get drunk because, you know, next day was school day and boring crap.
I don't know how long did we spent drinking or eating, but it's already time for me to leave, I said goodbye to the guys and hurried back home. I was just a little bit dizzy from the booze, thankfully a shower, a sleep and coffee in the morning might help me feel better.
I already had a shower and a change of clothes, I took one last glance at my phone coincidentally when a text from my mom arrived, I hesitated, should I open it now? Or perhaps tomorrow? If I do it now, and there are bad news, I won't be able to sleep tonight, I know it. Maybe it's better if I wait... Either way, that won't change my father's fate. I place my phone on the nightstand, screen down, and closed my eyes, drifting off to sleep.
