Fortune phoenix- Hiatus

Chapter 2

I walk into my new dorm house. 'I'm way too tired to deal with any more drama.' I think to myself. I start to recall all the action that happened in the gym. Me and Ethan walk in talking, some weird and crazy blond girl runs up to us and kisses Ethan. Trust me it was awkward. Then I walked always to give them some space. I got my class schedule and my dorm house attainment. I'm in the largest, fanciest, and best treated house in the school. Best part is, I only have to share it with 4 other people. Thankfully I know exactly why I was put here.

I start to walk up the stairs when I hear a very familiar voice.

"Victoria? Is that you? What are you doing in this house?" I can hear the confusion in his voice. He probably thinks that I should be in the platinum house because I'm a rare blue phoenix shape shifter.

I turn with an awkward smile on my face. "I could ask you that same question Ethan. I would think that you would be in the silver house with other EM's?" I'm just as confused as he is right this second. But, this was going to have to happen, I was going to have to tell him that I wasn't just a shape shift. I would have to tell him that I was a Teller.

A Teller isn't someone who gives you money at the bank, it's someone who has the power to see the future. But you can't choose what you get to see in the future. You could easily see your death. But the future is always changing. So if I did see my death I wouldn't be able to see what caused it, so I would have to try to figure out. Ya, so I might as well be reading riddles off a piece of paper and going from there.

Ethan sighs and so do I. We both have a secret to hide and we both wanted to know each other’s. The only way for that to happen is for both of us to come out.

"Want to sit down?" I ask to Ethan. He nods and we both head up the stairs to the living room.

He sits down on one of the large dark beige sofas. I go and sit down at the other end facing him. We both face each other, both waiting for someone to take the first move.

"I guess we should just get the obvious out of the way. We are both in the white dorm house. Which in turn means that we are both hybrids of some rare powers. Should I start?" He asks raising an eyebrow. I nod and he begins again.

"Okay I guess I'll do it again. My name is Ethan. I'm 14. From L.A. California. I'm an EM and werewolf soon to be alpha hybrid." He looks at be the entire time, 'Okay, now your turn."

I take a deep breath and start. “Name, Victoria. Age, 14. I'm from London, England. I'm a phoenix shape shifter and teller hybrid." I hold my breath to see him reaction.

Hybrids are rare. Were wolf hybrids are rare. Tellers are rare as is, so are blue phoenixes. A hybrid of those two only exist in fairy tales. There hasn't been a hybrid like either of us in record for over 500 years. I saw the shock in his face, I started to kind of freak out. Just a little though, but enough for him to sense that I wasn't calm. He instantly changed his face so that it was calm. Then he changed my mood that so I'm calm.

"Sorry, didn't mean to freak you out." he apologized and I was sorry to that he had to do that. He shook his head because I knew that he could see that I was sorry.

Let me explain, an EM is not the happiest power to have. You can feel people’s emotions and can change them, which in some cases will freak them out even more. They can feel that to, they really don't like that.

"It's okay, I wasn't really prepared for your reaction. I don't really tell anyone that. But that aside, so, you’re a werewolf hybrid. Excuse me, soon to be alpha hybrid.' now I can see the redness in his cheeks. I'm having too much fun teasing him.

'Yep, and you’re a very rare hybrid. A phoenix and a teller." he says teasingly.

Now I can feel my cheeks getting red. I look at the ground and smile. I can still feel I his eyes on my. 'Why isn't he alpha yet? Wait, ya, he isn't 15 or 18 yet.’ When the heir turns 18 they can become alpha. When he turns 15 he can find his mate and become alpha.

"So when are you going to become alpha Ethan?” What? I want to know this.

"As soon as I turn 18 or I discover my mate to rule alongside me."

"You make it sound like a monarchy then a pack."

He holds his hands up while shrugging his shoulders. I laugh at this. This is okay, I already have a friend that I can tease like a brother. 'Maybe this year won't be as hard as I thought', I smile at that thought.

We talked for a long time about our powers and how they work. We also talked about our lives and how we've dealt with being a hybrid. Ethan’s dad is the alpha of the largest and most powerful pack in the northern hemisphere the Bay Shadow pack, and his mom is an EM. My mom is a teller and my dad is a blue phoenix. We sat there and talked about random stuff. We talked until be heard a knock on the door down stairs. I looked at the clock and realized it was about 5 pm. People should start arriving at their dorms and settling in.

I decided to go and grab my stuff and go and unpack in my room. My room was on the second floor. I knew this because there were plates next to each room telling you the person’s name, age, and year. Mine said, Victoria Nicholas, 14, freshman. I opened the door to find my room was really big. My room was a suite practically. It had a king bed, a full bathroom, a dressing room, and a small kitchen and laundry area.

I unpacked and headed pack down stairs. I decided I was going to take a walk before I was going to eat dinner and go to bed. To my surprise, Ethan was down there to waiting.

"You going on a walk?"

"Ya, just around campus and then I'm going to go eat dinner and try to figure out where all my classes are."

"Mind if I join you?"

I shook my head and we headed out the door to the path that lead around campus. We took our time walking around. By the time we got back it was around 6:30. We headed towards the food court in the center of campus. When we got there it was open and people started to come inside with us.

"What are you going to eat?" I say looking around at the options.

"I think I'll get pizza to night, and maybe go to something different tomorrow."

"I'll have some pizza with you."

We headed over and both got a slice of pizza, some bread sticks, and a small water. We headed back the dorm with our food. Ethan was really nice by opening the door for me.

"Thanks Ethan."

"No problem Victoria."

"You can call me Van. Okay"

'Okay Van. Why Van though?"

"My initials spell it so that why."

"Makes sense to me."

We laughed and headed back upstairs to the couch. We sat and started eating pizza, then I heard somebody coming up stairs. I didn't bother to turn around and see who it was. I continued to each my pizza in happiness. I looked up to see Ethan's face getting kind of pale.

"Ethan, what's wrong?"

He started to open his mouth when a high pitch scream interrupted him. I set my food on the table in front of my and turn around still sitting on the couch to see what made that noise. I turn to see the girl from the gym. You know, the one that ran up and kissed Ethan, ya that girl.
