Road Trip

There was only so much you could do during the summer in outer banks. So when the other pogues begged to go on a road trip and didn't take no for an answer you thought why not. They insisted it would be a great time. So the six of you loaded up the twinkie and was on the road to Florida.

The drive was long. It was 10 hours. You all decided to split up the driving. John B took the first section. You were sitting next to JJ in the back. You and JJ were best friends. But you were in love with him. And he was in love with you but you didn't know that.

"So what's the first thing you're gonna do when you get there?" You asked JJ.

"I don't know go to the ocean catch some waves." Watch the sunset with my girl. JJ said the last part in his head.  "What are you gonna do?"

"I don't know maybe check out the air bnb."

"Wanna share a bed?" JJ asked.

"What?'" You turned your head to look at him.

"I'm kidding relax," JJ scratched the back of his head.

"Sure you were," you roll your eyes.

The drive is long. You chat with JJ for majority of the time. He was happy to talk to you. "You look like you're excited." He spoke quietly.

"I am."

"What are you most excited for?" JJ questioned.

"I just want to spend time together. I want to see Florida and explore with everyone." You explained.

JJ nearly choked. I just want to spend time together. Oh. With everyone, not just him.

"Yeah me too."

"Can I ask you something?" You spoke up.

"Yeah, what's on your mind?" JJ looked at you.

"Do you like spending time with me?"

JJ froze. what? Of course he did. He loved it. Cherished it. Why would you even question it.

"Yeah."

"Okay good, just making sure," you exhaled.

You and JJ chatted for a while. The two of you in your own little bubble.

Later on, you don't know what came over you but you were so unbelievably tired. You couldn't hold your eyes open any longer. Like it was instinct you leaned your head on JJ's shoulder and went to sleep. "Hm -oh," JJ turned and saw you resting on him and his heart stopped.

JJ thought you looked ethereal. The weight of your head on his shoulder made him all warm. JJ leaned his head on yours for a second. Then he brushed some hair away from your face. Then he realized he needed to act cool so he cleared his throat and tried his best to act nonchalant.

JJ started humming to the song on the radio. This action drew you in to a more peaceful sleep. It almost soothed you. JJ's shoulder was comfortable. You were in dreamland by now. JJ felt extra protective over you. He wanted to make sure you slept peacefully and that no one bothered you.

When Pope saw you asleep leaning on JJ he smirked. He pulled out his phone and starts to snap pictures of you and JJ. JJ immediately looks at Pope and gets a little embarrassed. "Hey! Knock that off!" JJ whispered.

Pope just laughed in response. "If you wake her up I'll kill you!" JJ whispered harshly.

"Woah woah, I just thought it was funny, no need to get violent," Pope responded.

Sarah and Kiara look at JJ and you together and decide to join in on the fun. "Awww look how cute, JJ taking care of his baby," Kiara teased.

"Shut up," JJ whispered trying not to wake you up.
