Don't forget to check out my latest story,"Steady." It takes on the life of a choir director, and I'm so bad a summaries. But, please read it and tell me what you think. I'd hope you come to love it as you do this story.

Genevieve
After leaving Trey inside, I walk outside to watch the kids play in the pool. My mind can't help but wander back to that hoe, Iris. I watch the kids splash water on each other and float around in their floaties.

Feeling hungry, I make my way up the path towards where my uncle and dad grilling up food on the grill. They smile at me as they see me coming towards them with my huge belly.

Suddenly, I feel the hands of someone on my back pushing me forward. With the sudden uncontrol of my body, I let out a scream as I bang my head on the table holding Yasmine's gifts and then causing it to collapse on the floor.

I'm so close to losing consciousness, but I hold on. I look up to see my perpetrator, Iris, standing over me with a look of satisfaction written on her face. A liquid drips down my forehead and I touch the source to check. Blood.

Before I can lunge and attack, security comes and grabs Iris. Anger and embarrassment boil inside of me as crowds of people circle around us as security drags a screaming Iris off of my property. My father and uncle help me get up, but I almost lose my balance.

"Is anyone here a nurse or doctor?!" My uncle asks while grabbing a wet towel and pressing it to my forehead.

"I am." My friend Hendrix says while coming forward through the crowd.

He's a nurse who works at the same hospital as me.

"She needs to sit." He says.

Someone pulls up a seat, and my father helps me sit down.

"Give them some space." My dad says while waving his arms.

Trey
I walk outside to see what's all the commotion. I see that a crowd has formed near the grilling area. Two security guards are dragging a screaming Iris out of my house.

"What happened?!" I ask them.

"This lady right here decided to get violent and pushed your wife into a table." One of them responds.

I stare at Iris in complete disgust and dislike. She would do something like that to a pregnant woman?

"It's not what you think, Trey. She's not the one for you. I am!" She yells hysterically.

"Get her out of here." I command while shooing her away with my hand.

I push through the crowd in worry. Once I reach the center, I find an angry Genevieve, her father and uncle, and Hendrix who's inspecting the hug cut on her forehead.

"I'm gonna press charges!" She yells.

I rush over to them. Genevieve notices me and yells at me for no reason. Yasmine who just ran to me and clings to my leg begins to cry. I guess she senses the tension. I pick her up and try to calm her down.

"It's okay, baby." I say.

"Mommy got boo-boo." She whimpers.

"Mommy's gonna be okay. Don't cry." I say while rubbing her back.

"You need to watch who you're around, Trey." She says while flinching as they place a wet towel on her forehead.

Before I can defend myself, Hendrix steps in.

"Can we save the screaming match for later? We need to get you to the hospital so you can get stitches, and so they can check on the baby." He says.

I bite my tongue and nod my head. My mother comes over and takes Yasmine away from me.

"I got her and I'll keep an eye on Damien," My mom tells me,"Go take care of all of that."

Yasmine begins to cry, but I have to go.

"Daddy will be back, baby girl. Stay with grandma, grandpa, and auntie." I say before kissing her cheek and leaving.

I hop into my Rolls Royce, and speed with Genevieve laying down on the back seat and Hendrix in the passenger. We're silent the whole 10 minute ride besides the times Hendrix asks Genevieve if she's feeling anything weird.

Genevieve
The gash in my head finally begins to hurt in the car. Once we reach the hospital, a friend of mine, Honesty, stitches me up. Perks of being a doctor.

"You had a big gash here," she says as she finishes up.

Trey looks over in apprehension. The stitches hurt like hell, but I hold in the screams. My real worry is my baby though. Six months of hard work won't go down the drain.

After finishing the stitching, I take out my phone and look myself in the camera. This is the worst! I look like Frankenstein. I hold back a sob and take a deep breath. Trey comes over to give me a hug and kiss. I could just melt in his arms.

"You're so beautiful." He tells me.

I peck his lips. He knows that he's forgiven.

"I don't want to lose the baby or want the baby to have a medical issue." I tell him as he rubs my lower back.

"Don't worry. It'll be all okay, then we can get out of here and get back to our daughter's party."

Of course I believe my husband. My protector, leader, and lover. The doctor comes back with the results 10 minutes later.

"You and the baby should be all good. Just be careful next time." He instructs.

I nod my head, and Trey helps me get down off the table.

"Alright. Let's go, baby." I say while taking his hand and leading him out the hospital.
