Genevieve
Three month old Evelyn gurgles and smiles at the sight of Trey as he walks into the living room. He's so dang fine. Caleb, Yasmine, and little Damien who just started walking run to him screaming,"Daddy! Daddy! Daddy!"
They crash into him almost causing him to fall over, but he catches himself.
"My little rugrats." He says while taking each of them one by one and throwing them in the air.
"Guess who missed daddy?" I ask as I walk up to him and give him a kiss.
"Mmm. You?" He says while taking Evelyn out of my arms.
I smirk and playfully tug his goatee hair. He winks at me and walks into the family room with the kids in close pursuit. Honestly, when Trey comes home, it's a load off my back.
Here's my normal day: In the morning, I wake up at 7:00am to get Yasmine and Caleb ready for school. Caleb was so excited when he found out he was moving in with Trey and I. I know he wanted to be closer to his father and younger siblings.
But, by the time I wake up Caleb, Evelyn wakes up which means that Damien wakes up with her. Luckily, Caleb is able to get himself ready, but Yasmine still needs help. Tracie is already downstairs cooking breakfast.
I run to the room to get Evelyn and Damien out of their cribs and change both of their diapers. Tracie comes to the rescue and takes over from there usually. I go to Yasmine's room where I have to spend 5 minutes trying to wake her up. Splashed of cold water to her face usually does trick.
By the time Yasmine and Caleb are out the door, I'm so tired, but I have to nurse Evelyn and feed Damien. Most mornings, Trey is out of the house before me. He's usually out with his team promoting his new drink or doing other things. He makes up for the mornings by taking the kids as soon as he gets home.
"Ay! Don't fight with your sister." I overhear Trey scold.
Caleb and Yasmine always end up fighting over stupid crap. Yasmine is at that stage where everything is "Mine" and Caleb is ready to push her to the ground because he doesn't know better.
I crawl into bed and immediately fall asleep. It's only 6pm but I don't care. I don't even hear Trey enter the room or crawl into bed until he wraps his arm around my waist and pulls me close to him. He nestles his face into my neck and breathes in the smell of my skin.
"You asleep, baby?" He whispers.
"Not anymore." I whisper back,"What time is it?"
"11:30 at night. The kids went to sleep hours ago."
I sigh as he intertwines his fingers into mine. Oh how I miss this intimacy. As if he's reading my mind, Trey says,
"I miss you, Gee."
"I miss you too. Having kids changed a lot." I reply.
"I know, babe."
I lost a considerable amount of weight since having Evelyn. Trey rubs my stomach up and down lightly. I don't think he knows that he's doing that. He places soft kisses on my neck while humming a song. I bite my lip in pleasure. It's been three months since Trey and I made love.
I turn my body around so that I'm face to face with my husband. My lifetime best friend. My ride or die. He places his hand on my neck to bring me closer to his face. Our lips meet and our tongues dance. I think Trey is just as hungry because he grabs my butt and squeezes it.
