Picture of Lacy Mosley (AKA Raine Evers)
Rewrote this and now its chapter 1 and 2 mixed together and it seems a lot longer which is a good think lol I plan to have this whole thing planned out better and spaced out better because I believe with work this story can become really great.

"Did he hit you again last night?" was the text I woke up to this morning from my best friend Lanie. I replied back the same response I've been giving her for who knows how long. My father abuses my mom and me and I've loathed his drunk demeanor ever since.
I walked into the bathroom and checked my back knowing I would find new bruises. Just like that 3 new bruises that looked like finger prints were imprinted in my lower back, I winced at the memory. I tenderly touched one of them and hissed at how much pain it brought me. Those blue, black, and purple spots all over my body taunting me with memories I just want to forget.
Sometimes when my mother and father are fighting I'll dream and write about faraway places. Sometimes there's a damsel in distress and her knight in shining armor saves her. My real intentions for those stories and daydreams are that soon just hopefully my knight in shining armor will come. He'll come to take me away from this never ending nightmare that I call home.
I started crying when I checked my bandages to change them. God, did they hurt next time I'll just have to stay away from my father when he has a knife in hand. There's no way of knowing what could happen next time.
Lanie finally answered back telling me that her mom said I could stay over there if I wanted, but I declined. If my own mom couldn't get away from his constant harassment then I wouldn't leave her. She and I came to a conclusion 3 years ago, after she ended up with a broken arm, that we wouldn't leave each other hanging when dad's around.
When Lanie answered back again she told me she was almost ready to come pick me up to go to our get away for the day, so I decided to hop in the shower. I invited the warm water as it helped to relax me a bit, it felt so good and refreshing. My black hair looked faded and ugly this morning, not at all like its usual self.
When I got out of the shower I towel dried my hair and found some clothes to wear. Which was a grey tank top, a Bring Me the Horizon hoodie, my new black skinny jeans, and my favorite worn pair of black vans. I let my hair stay in its slightly wavy position and went back to the bathroom. I found some concealer that goes with my pale complexion and put it on the hide the bruises on my face. They scared me when I saw them and I got scared of what others would think so I started wearing concealer to hide them. There was a big purple mark on my cheek that looked like a hand print, and was very tender to the touch. My left eye was encircled in a fading black bruise so I didn't have to hide it as much anymore as I used to.
My grey eyes looked panicked and hard. It must really depict my heart because that's how I always feel, lonely, cold and panicked. I've never gone out with anyone before because of my fears, which is why it's hard to find my knight. Not like anyone ever asks me to go anywhere besides Lanie. My only friend is Lanie and I liked it that way, we grew up together and told each other everything. I didn't like getting close to people (as you may know by now), so it's hard being close to her all the time though I try.
All of a sudden I heard a car horn which made me jump. That must be Lanie, better get going she's really impatient......and stubborn. I ran a comb through my hair once more, and then ran downstairs. My mom was up and cleaning the house. Dad must have been at work by now so I wouldn't have to worry about my mom for a while.
"You going somewhere Raine?" she asked. I looked over at her and noticed a now forming hand print on her neck.
I sighed, " Yeah I am, Lanie and I have been planning on going to that concert today remember?" I asked.
