I stared into my locker for a few minutes debating whether I should actually rummage through it or just leave my homework and go home. I almost chose the ladder, but I remembered my mom giving me the stink eye this morning when my Chemistry teacher called saying I was failing her class. Not my fault I couldn’t ever remember to do my homework…..

You’re stupid you know that?’ I thought to myself. I groaned outwardly, receiving some strange looks from other students passing by. I was right, I am stupid! Of course it was my fault for not turning in any assignment. Though I’m going to be totally uncool with myself and blame it on my locker no matter what. I fumbled with the lock for a few seconds and then started kicking it when it got stuck, just my luck. It always did this, no matter what the stupid thing had a tricky door and it despised me. It finally opened after senseless kicking for what felt like twenty minutes and, I then glared openly into the black hole until I sighed and went to work trying to find my stuff.

"What kind of pie do you like?" Lindon asked randomly, falling against the locker next to me. I gave him a strange look for about ten seconds then went back to digging through my locker for my stupid calculus book. My locker is a pig sty! It’s way worse than my room ever has been and my room is horrible. That’s one of the reasons I’m always late for class because I’m trying to find the things I need and when I do find them they’re usually a crinkled up mess and undecipherable.

"What kind of a question is that?" I asked him.

"You'll see." He shrugged.

"What do you mean?" I asked again. And then, “Aha! Here's that damn calculus book." I exclaimed in triumph when I found the blue hard covered book with the periodic table and beakers dictating the cover. I got up and strapped my torn black book bag over my shoulders and then looked at him with a questioning gaze.

"I want to do something today if you don't mind." He changed the subject quickly, smiling slightly at me as he got a faraway look in his eyes. The odd thing about it is that he’s been like this for quite some time now. All weird and out of place, it’s downright awkward. It’s been almost a week since we went to the board walk and I’ve been trying to avoid him like the plague since. Yet it seems almost as hard as escaping a burning building with no windows. He keeps asking me weird things like what my favorite food is (Chinese of course), and my favorite flower which just so happens to be tulips. I guess that because of him being so weird lately it helped me not feel as guilty when I shot him down to hang out with Lanie today.

"Oh I'm sorry. Lanie and I were planning on going somewhere today, for a little alone time. Ya know girls need their space sometimes too." I frowned, because as I’ve said before I have been getting really into these outings more and more each time. "But seriously what does pie have to do with anything?" I asked after thinking about it for a while. He's been asking really odd questions lately. What could he be doing?

"I just wanted to ask......" He smirked. Odd.......

"Well......if cheese cake is a pie then that I guess." I said. I didn't really like pie, I liked cheese cake. That's something my mom and I have in common. But still what did pie have to do with anything? Yes I’m repeating myself! I just really want to know! I’ll go all whiney baby on your ass if I have to be left out of a secret. Not my fault, blame my dad, or at least my old dad.
