Ch.2 Watching Kellin Light Up the Stage

I woke up to Lanie's frantic shaking me. "Why did you wake me up?" I groaned.

"Two reasons: one being it's almost two p.m. and two being Lindon went to get food before we start getting ready." She cheerfully exclaimed.

"Oh yeah! I almost forgot about the concert! I can't wait to see Kellin Quinn, he's so awesome!" I chirped with a big grin on my face. "Plus did you know that Jesse screams too, Kellin doesn't do it all."

She started to laugh her little pixie laugh, "Your celeb crush changes like every second, didn't you like Johnny Depp the other day, and Freddie Stroma the next?" She kept giggling.

"No matter what you think, he is one hot pirate." I sighed dreamily. "Plus I still find him totally gorgeous."

She wrinkled her nose as if what I just said was complete bull. "Ewwww, he's old enough to be your dad." She laughed again. I winced when she said father, but played it off like I was yawning. Though I think she noticed I really wasn't yawning, because she looked like she was about to apologize. She didn't get too though because Lindon made it his duty to shout cuss words as loud as he could at that moment.

The second Lindon walked in Lanie bombarded him with our conversation hopefully forgetting about it because I didn't want to delve any deeper than needed. "Raine thinks Johnny Depp is hot."

He raised an eyebrow, " But isn't he old enough to be your dad?" I chewed on the inside of my cheek (bad habit).

"That's what I said!" she exclaimed, her eyes were bright and lively like she was having fun humiliating me further.

"Hah hah, so funny," I rolled my eyes, the Chinese takeout made my mouth salivate. "Now where's my food? I'm hungry!" I just wanted to get the subject off my weird infatuations.

"Oh right.....um.....here." Lindon placed a bag of takeout boxes on the counter of the small kitchen. I ran to the boxes like they were my salvation, which in this case they were. I hadn't eaten since yesterday morning, which is weird considering I eat too much sometimes.

"It smells so good!" I exclaimed staring into all the food containers. I found a container full of rice and chicken, plucked it up and grabbed some chopsticks.

"Weird." Lindon stated after being subject to watching me dash for my sustenance.

I raised an eyebrow, "How so?"

"I got that for myself, buuut I can stand the other stuff." he smiled gesturing towards the box that I'd grabbed.

"Oh....uh.....I could regurgitate for you and give the rest to you?" I suggested sarcastically placing the container down.

"No matter how tempting that sounds, I'll have to pass." he chuckled. His laugh brought a small smile to my lips; it was so lighthearted and full of life that no matter what you just want to smile. Lanie watched with big eyes full of wonder, and then something must have dawned on her because her face twisted to something I know too well. She was planning something.

"Um....yah so I'll be getting ready now." Lanie said with a big innocent smile playing on her lips. She skipped off to the bathroom, shut the door, and started getting ready, but not without me sharing the same curious expression with Lindon.
