This is a big Lindon chapter! If you are big on him then you will definitely love this chapter, maybe ish. Actually you may cry a bit. You get to see a side of him no one has seen yet.

(LINDON'S POV)

I got the call that she was hurt just an hour earlier. I was just about to join my aunt and uncle for lunch. It upsets me so much to know something like this would happen while I'm gone. Why? Why did she have to go and hurt herself so badly to where she's stuck in the hospital? Why do I even care so much for her? Raine, is it that you have somehow managed to wind your way into my heart, ambush the barracks there and take it over? I've been putting up such strong fights, yet here I am running (or more or less driving) to her aid.

(FLASHBACK TO THIS MORNING)

"Don't forget to call as soon as you get there." The despicable alienated being said. So what if she was to become my mother by marriage, no one could ever take my real mother’s place.

"Sure." I put on a fake smile, trying to hide my feelings like I've done for the past 2 years. Lanie was in the kitchen watching me with her warm, yet calculating eyes. She smirked at me knowingly, perfect. She had knocked on my door late last night, telling me she knew about my feelings, especially the emotions for Raine. I'd asked her what she meant, because apparently I didn't know about these feelings. She just giggled though and walked away.

"Lindon....." someone called my name. "Lindon! Answer me!" That same person hit me in the back of my head.

"Huh? Oh. Hey Bran." I rubbed the back of my head. This guy was interesting, no matter what I did, he always came back to the same conversation. Raine.

"Dude weren't you gonna come with me and Darren to the beach?" He ruffled my hair, causing it to go into disarray.

"Yah, sorry about that, but I can't. I forgot about going to my aunt’s house this weekend." I smiled brightly hiding the fact that he'd just messed up the hair I'd taken an hour to do. What can I say I’m like a girl when it comes to the hair on the top of my head.

"Ah not fair. You shouldn't be able to get out of things so easily." He pointed out and walked into the kitchen to grab a box of cereal.

"Oh Lindon don't lie." Lanie giggled. "You only just made these plans, because you’re wallowing in your own self pity, not getting to take Raine on one of your 'special dates' " Lanie and Bran started going into a complete laughing fit. Leaving me to stand there not the least bit happy.

"Yep that's exactly why." I said. I wanted to see what they'd do if one of us finally owned up to their accusations. Not like they are true, but you know, they can dream.

"Wait really?" Bran asked. His face was wiped of all emotion, Lanie's face didn't look too much different from that.
