""Yeah," Emilia said jumping, not expecting to hear any voiced behind her.
"It's..Addison..she's gone..and there was a note left behind," Her mother said collapsing into a ball on the lino floor, letting her insides fall out, unable to hold herself together.Emilia picked up the note from her distraught mother to read.
"I told you if you ever hurt her you will pay for it, and you have hurt her, so she will pay the price, you have till sundown on the 3rd Sunday of the month to get the money to me or start being nicer to her, whatever comes first."
Emilia felt her insides turn, her sister was in danger because of her and somehow it was leading all back to her.
"Em, I think it's time we go to the cops," Ethan said walking up to Emilia and pulling her into a hug.
"But if we do ...they will kill her," Emilia said trying to hold it together for the sake of her younger sister that she cared ever so much about. Even though at this current stage she had no idea if Addison remembered her or not, that didn't matter. She remembered the promise she made to Addison that time when she had the bouncy house disaster. That promise was that no matter what, she would always do the best for her sister. Emilia knew what she had too do.
"I know Emilia, I know... however the cops probably will be able to find her much quicker than you, I or even mum can," Ethan said rubbing Emilia's shoulder. It was times like this that Emilia was close to her siblings. She knew so many people who would kill each other if they where ever in the situation that both Emilia and Ethan where in.
Ethan nervously pressed in the 3 digits he had been taught from such a young age and never ever thought that he would ever have to use this number let alone call it for his younger sister.
"Fire, ambulance, police. How can I be of service today?" The operator on the other line said as Ethan started pacing up and down the hallway.
"Police," Ethan said in a not so calmly manner.
"And how can we be of service?" The voice said on the other side of the line sounding like they really didn't want to be there right now.
"It's my sister. She's gone. We have been getting threats for the past weeks but never thought anything of it till she was kidnapped," Ethan said as the tears started forming in his hazel eyes.
"A officer will be there in 10 minutes. Until then stay calm and don't open the door to anyone. The police will let you know it's them. Bye," The operator said sounding like she was reading some sort of transcript.
"Well she was a load of empathy," Ethan said rolling his eyes.
- page break-
"So it says here that you have been getting some sort of threats," The officer said pacing the room and looking for any evidence she could find to help track down and locate the small child as soon as possible.
"Letters, to me," Emilia says looking down at her thumbs. No matter how many times Chase had told her that it wasn't her fault she somehow wasn't to sure on that anymore. I mean yes, Chase and Evolet had been though similar times with their sister, but she still was struggiling to come to terms with everything.
"And can we see these so called evidence," The police offer said, as Emilia pulled out the ransom note as well as her phone to show the officer the texts that she had been getting.
"Is that all?" The officer looked over at the teens, who where now home alone as there aunt had come to take their destraught mother away."And do you plan on showing these notes or..." The police offer stated sounding like her was getting rather annoyed and started to think that the teens where playing some sort of prank, or even joke on him.
"I better go collect the notes," Emilia said running up to the room, not believing how incredibly rude the police man downstairs was being and went to where all the notes where located.
"ETHAN," Emilia shouted loudly from her room which made Ethan bolt, he couldn't risk losing another sister not now not ever.
"Yeah," Ethan said as relief rolled over his face.
"The notes... they have gone," Emilia said as she threw everything out of the small wooden box that was kept at the end of her bed.
"You don't think the killer took it when they took Addison, due to the fact that we are getting close do you?" Emilia said sitting on the bed crying into her hands, knowing that all hopes were almost lost and that the hours were running weak. Emilia was punching herself for watching all those crime shows on TV knowing that each hour the person has been kept captive is one less that they may live
Just then the door bell rang, and broke the silence between the teens who had been sitting in silence for a few moments now.
"Who the heck is that. I mean its not even...wow it's 3 am," Emilia said looking at the radio clock placed beside her bed with the numbers glowing a greeny yellow.
"You don't think that that 'cop' downstairs wasn't a fake cop to get into our house to get us do you?" Ethan said.
Just then Emilia heard a fizz go, before the room went black, and a bang go off from down stairs.
Emilia felt herself slowly drift of to sleep. So I am going to be updating the clues every second chapter so the next chapter will have the clues up until that part of the chapter. That way then end of the story won't be cluttered.
Also this dedication is one that I have had for a while meant to dedicated to and that is to my editor, thanks for editing each chapter and making sure I do not have those silly little mistakes in.
Anyway so you should definitely go check her out. Also if you DM me who you think the killer is and you are the first to guess correctly (you are allowed more than one guess) the Epilogue will be dedicated to you.
I am sorry it took me so long to update.
Anyway thanks for reading and I will see you next week. Also don't forget that there is a vote to win competion so vote to win a chapter dedicated to you on a mystery chapters :)
