Seeing Colours

Chapter 16

You will kind of find out who it is but isn't. This is the last chapter that you are able to guess who it is so keep an eye out for that.

Addison sat in the cold damp room, with only a blanket and pillow lying beside her, a small light sneaking through a small crack in the door, and a small shiver falling down her spine, not knowing what was going on.

The door creaked before a masked man walked through the door, shoving what looked to be another child into the room.

"Dinner will be here shortly, and don't worry, I won't be hurting you, unless you sister doesn't follow through with the promise she's made," the masked man said in a horrid tone, before shutting the door, leaving only a small ray of sun to shine the room.

Addison shivered, not just because of the fact that she was creeped out by the masked man, but due to the fact that he thought that her, Addison, had a sibling.

"What's he talking about," a shy, yet worried Evolet said as she walked up to Addison placing her arm around her shoulder, giving the young child comfort.

"I don't know, that guy seems to think that I have a sister, when I really don't," Addison says crying into the palms of her hands quietly, not trying to disturb the mask man, in fears of what could actually happen to her, if she was caught crying.

"Wait, your are Addison right?" Evolet asked while all pieces of the puzzle connect and it finally clicked who this was.

"Uh yeah. How do you know who I am?" Addison said scooting away from the stranger, in fears that this masked man would attack her through this young child.

"Well, I have met your brother Ethan, and I regret to have to tell you this, but the masked man is correct, you do have a sister, and she is extremely worried about you," Evolet said in a calm voice trying not to panic the small child even more than she already was.

"Then why don't I remember her then?" Addison said stating to work herself up

"I ..... I don't know. Chase wouldn't tell me anymore than I already know," Evolet said looking down at the ground. Seeing how upset the young child was upset her.

That's when it all clicked for Addison. She had a sister, and she never would have thought that she would ever forget her.

"Hey Madison," Emilia said grinding through her teeth. In the past week she had noticed herself slowly drifting apart from her. After the most recent discovery, she knew she had to tell Madison soon but couldn't do anything just yet.

"Hey Em! Guess what?" Madison said, not catching onto Emilia's annoyance.

"Its mine and Jake's two month anniversary," Maddison said happily.

"If only you knew," Emilia thought to herself not wanting to spoil the happiness that Maddison was currently feeling.

"Really congrats," Emilia said not meaning a word that she meant.

"You look pale. Are you alright?" Maddison asked concerned.

"Its just... Okay, I know you are not ready to here this but..." Emilia started to say knowing that this was the perfect time to tell her. If not now when would she tell her?

"Hey Maddie," Jake said kissing Madison's cheek bone, while giving Emilia a nasty yet discrete look, so that Madison wouldn't pick up on what he was doing.

"What where you saying?" Maddison said looking lovingly into Jake's eyes

"Yeah what where you going to say Em,"  Jake said giving her an eye piercing look.

"Well I was going to say was ... um" Emilia said quickly looking for some sort of lame excuse that hopefully Jake would fall for.

"....  I was just going to say how happy I am for you. You know with it being your anniversary and all," Emilia said hoping that this would work as a cover up.

"Oh thank you," Madison said, while Emilia relised that her excuse had actaully worked and that she would still have to somehow tell her eventually, as it was the right thing to do. No matter how annoyed at her she was right now she deserved to know the truth.

Emilia really didn't want to tell Madison the truth if it meant her sister, or even Chase's sister would get hurt, however, she also did not want to tell in case the attacker hurt anyone else, but right now all that really mattered was telling her best friend the truth, even if they weren't practically getting along at this present stage.

"So any new news?" Chase asked as the pair walked to Emilia's house for the afternoon.

"No, however I have decided that I need to let Maddison know soon, as if I was in her position, I would like to know. I wouldn't like to know she had to go through a hard time like this without me there for comfort, you know?" Emilia said going quiet.

"I know," Chase said rubbing her back trying to comfort her.

That's when Emilia's phone buzzed.

"I can't look," Emilia said as a sudden rush of nerves hit her like a ton of bricks.

Chase picked up the phone, before turning a pale shade of white.

"Chase what is it?" Emilia said realising that something was completely wrong.

Chase couldn't let a word escape his mouth. All he could do was hold the phone up as Emilia read it.

"I warned you and you failed this time. One of them is going to pay. You are going to pay for this Emilia."

She felt everything escape her body, and in a shaky voice all she could get out was: "call the police."

"She hurt you so one of you have to pay," the masked man said pointing a gun in the middle of the two girls.

The air was filled with sirens rushing towards the house, but it was too late.

A loud gun shot was heard fired, followed by a percing scream, and a lifeless body fell to  the ground as the police entered the blinding.

So there are only three more chapters left till this story ends :( I just wanted to take a minute to thank each and everyone of you for reading. It means a lot to me.
