I can't breath. They have my little sister. She's tied up with chains bound around her wrists. She has something that looks like a dog collar around her throat. I wonder if it does the same thing the chip does. It's makes me incredibly angry, my eyes turning the color of blood. "Let me up," I say, my voice pleading. I'm angry, but I want to see her, make sure she is really there. And after that--I don't know.

"What's the magic word?" Londyn says. She's trying to get a rise out of me. Trying to make me do something--attack her? But I won't.

I grit my teeth together. "Please. Please let me up."

Londyn grins. "One more thing before you get up: Quin has a remote connected to the chip. If you mess up or try to attack someone, or anything like that, he will press the red button. It will send a shot 3 times more painful that the last through your body." I nod, hating the idea that the boy--Quin--can basically control what I do, just because I can't take the pain.

Lucas pulls out a key from under his shirt, and comes over to me. "How could you do this, again, Lucas?" I whisper as he unlocks my bindings. I sit up as he answers.

"I just have to. If I told you, you wouldn't understand." I shake my head, then get up. My hands and legs are shaking as I walk toward my little sister that I haven't seen in four years.

Her skin is pale and she looks malnourished. Like she hasn't been getting regular meals. I walk over to her, and stare at her for a second. Then, without being able to control it, I hug her to me, holding her tight. And her skin is warm and alive, and I know she is real.

Soon, tears are running down my cheeks, somehow, hot and salty. I haven't cried in years--the last time was when I thought that my family was dead. "You're alive," I whisper, wiping her hair out of her face. I hold her face in mine, examining it. Hating the unhealthy parlor.

She doesn't reply. There are tears in her eyes, though. "Can you unchain her?" I ask. "Please?" All of my pride is gone. I can't stand to look at my 9 year old sister, pale, probably hungry, and chained up. But, right now I can only change one of those things. If that.

Lucas comes over and pulls out his key again. He gently slides behind her. A second later, the chains clatter to the floor. He hands come back around to her sides, and tears come into my eyes again. But this time, they aren't because I've found my sister. This time, they are because of the blood around her wrists. My eyes turn a black-red color, but I close my eyes, trying to let go of the anger. But, I could never. Who knows how long she's had those chains on her?

I hug her to me again, but she doesn't move her arms. He eyes are dazed. Maybe she thought we were all dead, like we thought her. Or captives.

I stand, and turn to Londyn. "If I help you," I say, "you have to let her go. And get this thing out of my neck." She smirks, and I know she's just using Aaliyah to get me to do this for her. I know she's probably lying. But, there is still a chance that she's not.

"Of course," she purrs. "If you get me the answers I want."

"Okay. I will. But, I also want protection. For Aaliyah."

"Okay. Think of it as done."

I nod, closing my eyes, knowing that if I do this, I can never go back to my home the same way if I do this. "Then, tell me what you need to know..."
