|Chapter 11: Kiss Me like the World's gonna Disappear| Part 2
It wasn't what Baekhyun had expected. He didn't expect Jongin to be there. He didn't expect someone to embrace him out of nowhere and be asked to stay still looking at the darkening sea. He didn't expect it at all.
What he did was only idly wish for it.
He can feel his heart beating behind his back, even Jongin's warmth and his breaths hitting his neck against the cold wind. For some reason, Baekhyun feels scared feeling them all at once.
"Jongin," Baekhyun is willing to keep his voice low, hide them, not to let Jongin hear them breaking. "you were avoiding me..."
Jongin settles. It's true, but he doesn't tell him this. Only, "I've been thinking of some things lately."
"And those would be..?"
Truthfully, Baekhyun is frightened to ask. The wind brushing against his cheeks and the shivers it gives makes him think twice to let his voice out. They sound so fragile once he lets them. And he's sure, Jongin heard how breaking they were.
More than anything right now, the other part of him is trapped against the idea of Jongin's touch is only behind that thin fabric wrapped around him that is keeping them apart. He wants his warmth. He wants his skin against his own. He wants Jongin right now, so badly. But from the way it looks, Jongin seems to be on the opposite side of all those things.
"Hyung," He starts. Jongin isn't sure, and he knows Baekhyun is hearing this doubts ring in his ears. "let's...let's stop –"
"I know right? We need to stop sitting here." Baekhyun stands up from his embrace, holding the blanket around him with his arms. "Since it's already getting colder and colder."
"That's not... Baek –"
"I think they're already back." He cuts him again.
Baekhyun already knows where this is going. Jongin's about to leave him. It's already written on his face. And that's the very reason why he can't let him finish what he is saying. Because it would hurt, a lot. Because it would mean everything would be over.
Jongin can't even look him in the eyes. Baekhyun also can't. There's a part of him that wants to cry so badly right now. Because it already hurts, and still Jongin doesn't seem to know. Just by thinking about what Jongin is about to say already kills him. He's already begging his own eyes not to let out a tear.
But it's hard.
After passing by him, Baekhyun looks back. Jongin is looking at him, but it's different for him. Baekhyun is trying to see through him.
He tries calling for his name, curling his toes within the sands. "Jongin" He lets his tongue grasp around its tone. The way it smoothly curls and slides on his palettes also hurts as well. Baekhyun's way in too deep now.
