Sofie's Perspective
I pulled back in next to the transport van and pulled my phone out. I dialed my best friend since birth, Gaby. I raised the phone to my ear and listened to the ringing.
"Hello?" Gaby's voice rang through the phone.
"So a couple of people I met, who two are werewolves, figured out who the Kanima is. It's a guy who goes to our school. Were at the preserve and I want you to come help us." I requested.
"Okay. I'll be there in five." She said and hung up. I put my phone back and in my pocket and got out. I walked over to Scott, Stiles, Mia and some girl I didn't know.
"If Jackson doesn't remember being the Kanima he's definitely not gonna remember stealing Danny's tablet." Scott sighed.
"Why would he still the damn thing if he doesn't know what's on it?" Mia asked.
"What if someone else took it?"
"Then someone else know's what he is."
"Which could mean someone's protecting him."
"Like the bestiary says the Kanima seeks a friend, right?" The girl asked.
"Okay, wait, hold on. So, somebody watches Jackson make the video of himself turning into the Kanima and then just erases part of it so he wouldn't know? Who would do that?"
"Somebody who wanted to protect him?"
"There's something else. You said the only thing you found online about the Kanima is that it goes after murderers. What if that's actually true?" Scott asked.
"No it can't be. It tried to kill us, remember? I don't know about you four but I haven't murdered anyone lately." Stiles said, sarcasm sparking in his voice.
"I don't think it was actually trying to kill us. Remember, when we were at Isaac's the first time? It just went right by us."
"You're right. I just ran off."
"And it didn't kill you at the mechanic's garage."
"Well yeah, but it tried to kill Derek, Mia and I in the pool."
"Did it?"
"It would've. It was waiting for us to come out."
"Maybe it was trying to keep you in." Gaby walked in next to me and swung her arm over my shoulder.
"Thanks for coming Gaby."
"Why do I feel so violated all of a sudden?" Stiles asked.
"Because there's something else going on and we don't know what it is. We don't know about anything going on with Jackson. Why someone's protecting him."
"Know thy enemy."
"Something my grandfather said."
"Alright I got it. Kill Jackson, problem solved."
"We're not killing him." Mia yelled.
"Nothing means he's not worth saving!" Scott defended her.
"It's only something with him though."
"He doesn't know what he's doing."
"So what?"
"So I didn't either!" Mia shouted.
"You remember when I almost killed you and Jackson?" Scott asked the girl. She nodded.
"I had someone to stop me."
"He's got nobody."
"That's his own fault." Stiles grunted.
"Doesn't matter. If we can save him, we should try." Scott said.
"He may be an asshole. But I'm not gonna just let him be alone! No one! And I mean no one needs to feel loneliness! Ever! At all!" I shouted.
