Merideth's Perspective

"So this kids the real killer?" Sheriff asked.

"Yeah."

"No."

"Yes."

"No." Sheriff crossed his arms.

"Dad, come on. Everybody knows that the police look for ways to connect victims in a murder, okay? So, all you have to do is go through the transcripts and figure which class they all had in common." Stiles argued with his father.

"Yeah, except for the fact that the rave promoter, Kara wasn't in Harris's class."

"Alright, okay, you're right. Sorry. Then I guess they dropped the charges against him?" Stiles said sarcastically.

"No, you know what? They're not dropping the charges. But that doesn't prove anything."

"Scott do you believe this?"

"It's really hard to explain."

"You just have to trust us Sheriff. We know it's Matt. He took Harris's car, knowing that if the cop found the tire tracks at one of the murders, and that enough of the victims were in his class that they'd arrest him." I said.

"Alright fine. I'll allow the remote possibility, but give me a motive. I mean, why would this kid want most of the 2006 swim team and it's coach dead?" Sheriff pushed.

"Isn't it obvious!?" Stiles shouted.

"Our swim team sucks! They haven't one in like six year-alright we don't have a motive yet. I mean come on does Harris?" Stiles shouted.

"What you want me to do?" Sheriff asked.

"We need to look at the evidence." Scott answered.

"Yeah, that would be in the station. Where I know longer work."

"Trust me, they'll let you in."

"Trust you?" Sheriff pointed at Stiles.

"Trust Scott and Merideth?" Stiles asked.

"Scott and Merideth I trust."

"Alright, that's settled let's go." I nodded.

We followed Sheriff into the station and stood in front of the girl at the reception desk.

"It's two in the morning."

"Believe me I wouldn't be here if it wasn't extremely important."

"We'll look at the hospital evidence first." I pointed out.

"Why?" Scott asked.

"Because all the murders were committed by Jackson except for one, remember?"

"The pregnant girl. Jessica."

"Yeah, since Matt had to kill her himself, somebody at the hospital could've seen him." I pointed out.

"Thank you."

"Boys, woman." Sheriff called and led us to his old office.

Sheriff was doing something and then called us behind his desk. We watched some of the hospital footage.

"I don't know, guys, I mean look at this. There was a six car pile up that night, the hospital was jammed."

"Alright, just keep going. Look, he had to pass one of the camera's on that floor to get to Jessica, he's gotta be on the footage somewhere."

"Hold. Stop. Did you see that? Go back." I said and Sheriff rewinded it.

"That's him, that's Matt."

"All I see is the back of someone's head."

"Matt's head, yeah. I sit behind him in history, he's gotta a very distinct cranium. It's weird."

"Are you crazy?" Sheriff asked his son.

"Alright, fine then. Look at his Jacket, huh? How many people do you know who where black leather Jackets?"

"Millions, Merideth being one of them. Literally."

"Okay, can we scroll forwards? There's gotta be a snip of his heading towards one of the cameras." Sheriff skipped ahead and we saw Matt again. He stopped and talked to one of the nurses.

"Right there. Stop, stop. See there he is again."

"You mean there's the back of his head again." Sheriff corrected Stiles.

"Okay, but look, he's talking to someone." Stiles pointed out.

"He's talking to my mom."

~Time Skip~

"Scott? You know how many people I deal with in a day?"

"This one's sixteen, he's got dark hair, he looks like a normal teenager."

"He looks evil."

"Scott I already talked to the police about this."

"Okay, mom, I'm gonna take a picture and send it to you." Scott took a picture of Matt from the year book and sent it to Melissa.

"Did you get it?" I asked.

"Yeah."

"Recognize him?  Do you remember him?"

"Yeah, I did, I mean, I remember I stopped him because he was tracking mud in the hall."

"Scott, what's going on?"

"It's-it's nothing mom. I'll explain later, I gotta go." He said and hung up.

"We got shoe prints, alongside the tire tracks at the trailer site."

"And if they match that puts Matt at the scene of three murders. The trailer the hospital, the rave."

"Actually, four. A credit card received for an oil change was signed by Matt at the garage where the mechanic was killed." Sheriff said and stood up.

"When?" Stiles asked quickly.

"A couple hours before you got there."

"Alright,dad, if one's an incident two's a coincidence and three's a pattern, what's four?"

"Four's enough for a warrant."

"Scott, call your mom back. See how quick she can get here. If I can get an official ID I can get a search warrant."

"Stiles and Merideth, go to the front desk, tell em' to let Scott's mom in when she get's here."

"On it." I cheered and we raced out of the office. We ran to the front desk but abruptly stopped when we saw that the girl wasn't there.

"Hello?" Stiles called out.

"I peeked over the little gate and saw that the girl was on the floor, blood all over herself. We turned around and a gun was pointed at our faces. Matt was at the other of the weapon and shook his head. Matt pushed us back into Sheriff's office with his gun to our backs. I stood next to Scott as Stiles scampered to the side.

"Matt. It's Matt right," Matt nodded." Matt, whatever's going on I guarantee there's a solution that doesn't involve a gun."

"You know it's funny you say that because I don't think you're aware of how right you are."

"I know you don't wanna hurt people."

"Actually, I wanna hurt a lot, of people. You four were on my list, but I could be persuaded. One way is to try calling someone on your cell phone like McCall is doing." Matt said and Scott quickly pulled his hand out of his pocket.

"That, that could definitely get someone hurt. Everyone. Now!" The three threw their phones on the table while I stood still.

"Phone! Now!" He shouted.

"I don't have mine, okay dickwad? I left it at my house because I didn't need it." I lied steadily. Matt nodded with his jaw clenched.
