Be strong enough to stand alone
Smart enough to know when you need help
And brave enough to ask for it.
We slept in and hung out at the house all Sunday, getting to know each other, watching movies, cooking together...nearly blowing up the kitchen...it was all great fun. But now...we go back to hell.I pulled myself out of Warren's arms that morning, with much difficulty and showered before getting dressed. I wore a motionless in white shirt and dark wash skinny jeans, before pulling on Warren's jacket and walking downstairs. I grabbed my bag just as he did and we walked hand-in-hand to the bus stop together. I stood, with my face in his neck, staying as close as possible while around other people. We got onto the bus and Ron drove like a crazy man yet again, trying to kill us as we went off the edge of the highway and the bus grew wings. "Hey, wait." I said holding Warren's hand as we got off and waited for my friends, who looked shocked as hell to see Warren waiting with me.
"Lili! You look so much better!" Layla exclaimed hugging me. Will was about to as well before Warren pulled me to him tightly.
"No other male contact yet." I explained and he nodded.
"Glad to see you're feeling better, and that you're taking care of her." Warren nodded.
"It's my job, that's what boyfriends do." We all talked for a while, walking to each others lockers, and Warren joined in. He got along with Layla and Ethan, and even Will! I can honestly see them becoming good friends, although him a Zack was a no-go, Magenta and he tolerated each other, they're both very reserved. It wasn't until the bell rang for classes that we had to face our problems, separate classes. I'm in hero support, and he's not. He walked me there along with the others, except Will who couldn't be late again. "If they're dating why doesn't Stronghold walk her to class?" Warren asked about Will and Layla.
"Oh, if Will was late to class one more time he was gonna get hit with a freeze ray by the big headed teacher...who's name escapes me..." I said thoughtfully before chuckling. Warren walked me in and everyone stared at us, even Mr.Boy in either envy or wonder. "I'll miss you." I said kissing his jaw, as high as I could reach, he's taller then me.
"I'll miss you too Kitten. But I'll see you at lunch." I nodded as he leaned down and pressed his warm lips to mine.
"You're always so warm, did I ever tell you how much I love that?"
"I don't think so, but it's noted." He kissed my cheek one last time, handing me my books, and walking out toward his class. I felt my heart pulling the farther away he got until it finally stopped and I realized he must be in his class. I paid attention to the lesson, taking notes and writing down my homework assignments for each lesson we did. About 20 minutes before lunch principal powers called me down to her office. Once again I felt the pull get a little tighter as I walked down to her office to be met by her and Coach Boomer.
"Miss Crane, we've looked over your records while trying to get you to be as close to your mate as possible. We believe you have the potential to get into the hero classes, but we can't place you in them until you show us your powers." She explained.
"I'm sorry, I don't use my powers except for in emergencies, they're not safe."
"Lash and Speed was an emergency?" Boomer asked condescendingly and I glared.
"I was protecting my friend, and my mate!"
"What did you even do to them?" Principal Powers asked.
"I stopped them from hurting anyone else, that's all, it doesn't matter, I'll handle being in hero support, with my friends, and seeing my mate at lunch, gym, and everyday before and after school, it all works out." She nodded thoughtfully.
