"We stopped looking for monsters under our bed when we realized they were inside us." ~ Unknown
Jaylyn was silent as she was roughly jerked into the wall, her head cracking against it to send blood down the side. Adam wasn't finished as he threw her back onto the ground before drawing out a knife. She winced as he swiftly cut open the stitches across her throat to reopen her near fatal wound, she tried to get out of his grip but between the sharp blade and his strength she couldn't find a was to safely get away. A shudder past through her body as she gave up and looked into his dark eyes, she knew Adam was doing this on purpose, scaring her, forcing the memories to come back... It made Jaylyn feel like that small child again.
"Henry told me everything." Adam growled down at her, his knife still against her throat. "How dare you do that, you just handed me over to those monsters for your benefit! The worst part is that I thought you were the only person there I could trust..."
Jaylyn felt a stab of betrayal toward Henry Morgan, had it been necessary for him to drag Adam into their slight disagreement? "I did what I thought I had to."
The pressure on her throat increased and she gave a small cry of pain as more blood trailed down. "The right thing to do would've been to kill the Nazis."
She felt him draw back his arm for another attack and took her chance to kick him off balance before scrambling to her feet and running. Knowing his next attack would be to throw the knife, she ducked to the side... but the attack never came. Risking a glance back she found the other immortal was gone, and then she ran into him. Jaylyn yelped in shock and backed away hurriedly but all too late. He grabbed her and shoved her against the wall.
"Adam please... Don't kill me." She pleaded with him, her body unable to stop shaking as another man took his place in her mind.
"Why not?" Adam let the blade slip slightly into her gut, blood trailing after it. "I died more times than you in the camps because of what you did. I should've known you weren't the immortal I took you for."
She saw him shake his head almost shamefully. "You've seen the scars Adam, I've had a worse life than you."
Adam used his free hand to trace one of them through her shirt, a thoughtful look coming into his gaze. "I don't want to ever see you here again, do you understand? If I let you to live now it will be as an exile."
"You can't do that." She sneered.
"Don't let me catch you again or I'll make sure you're life is worse now than when you were beaten." Adam snapped, before giving another shallow cut as a warning and leaving her there.
Jaylyn limped off in the opposite direction, her head held low. She was the youngest immortal excluding Samuel Treen and yet she had made the most enemies. Henry didn't want her coming near in fear Abe's life would be in danger and now Adam had practically banished her from New York... not that he could do that. At least she still had Lucas on her side, even her family hadn't been and they were related by blood.

Jaylyn trembled as she stood between her father and the doctor, looking back at him she could see his face appeared friendly but his eyes were warning her to lie. She swallowed and looked over at the doctor, whose dark brown eyes were sending her a worried and kind look, it made her trust him.
Even his voice was kind as he spoke with patience. "Your father says you were in a bit of an accident, I have to make sure there isn't any permanent damage."
