"I like the darkness. There's something to the feeling of not knowing your surroundings, not seeing the color of things as they appear, but as they truly are. There's something about the unknown, the quiet, the cold. There's something unspoken about the dark, something I can never quite put words to. Something terrifying yet beautiful." ~ Unknown.

Henry walked into the morgue to find Jo waiting beside Lucas, a box sitting on the table behind them. "Is that the package?"

"Yes, and it's starting to leak." Jo moved aside to allow him past.

Henry remembered the last time there was a leaking package here but as he looked at the small box he saw the liquid was clear, not blood. Still he was cautious as he unfolded the flaps back and revealed melting ice surrounding a human eye staring blankly up at the ceiling.

"That's lovely." Lucas' sarcastic remark came from his left. "Where do you think the rest of the owner is?"

"I don't know but perhaps if we can find the owner we can get a good idea." Henry turned to Jo. "Check the hospital records for anyone coming in needing eye surgery, the victim could still be alive."

"If there isn't any?" She asked.

He shook his head. "I'll figure something out."

"Or another body part will arrive." Lucas said. "They could be sending us clues like this is a game."

"All the more reason to find out where the victim and killer are before that happens." Henry replied solemnly. "I'll see what Lucas and I can find with this."

"Well you two always seem to find the impossible." Jo complimented. "Call when you find anything."

"As always." Lucas replied as the detective walked out of the morgue. "Okay, I'll get the equipment ready."

Henry nodded in acknowledgement before putting on gloves and taking the eye out of the box and onto the table. "First I want to see what I can find without cutting into it."

"Well, yeah, but after that we don't want to waste time."

Henry didn't respond as he started staring at the eye for closer inspection on the amount of cloudiness that had discolored the normal blue. A moment later he looked up and over to Lucas. "This person was blinded at least a few days before the eye was removed and sent to us."

"Indicating the victim could still be alive... minus an eye of course." Lucas responded. "I'll look for any missing person's report."

Phoenix woke up to blinding lights and felt confusion sweep through him as he sat up, where was he? Once his eyes adjusted he could make out modern medical equipment and nurses bustling about outside his room, he immediately came to the conclusion he was in a hospital. Why he was there however was a different story, obviously he'd been hurt but how? He winced as he moved a bit too much and started pulling the needles from his arm only to be stopped by a nurse as she caught him.

"You need to keep those in." She told him firmly.

He glared at the needles in hatred as they were put back into his arm. "Where's my mom? I want to see her, she'll tell me what happened."

The lady gave him a look before turning away. "I'm sure she will, I'll be right back."

"Are you getting my mom?" He sat up, worry gnawing at him for an unknown reason.

"Someone else is here to see you first." There was a certain tone in her voice he didn't like. "They'll be here in a few minutes."
