Truly Magical (Phan)

Chapter 10

*PHIL'S POV*

"Uh... hi." Dan said, sitting down next to me.

"Hey." I said back.

Wow. After 3 years, just a hi? 3 years of nothing.

"So, uh, how have you been?" Dan asked me.

Alone. Heartbroken. Sad.

"Pretty good, how about you?" I forced myself to say.

"Good... Im sorry by the way. I don't know how we got to where we aren't I don't even remember why we fought in the first place, really. But I figured it was probably my fault- it always is." He said the last part in almost a whisper, as if he didn't want me to hear.

"No, I'm sorry. I don't remember either but you shouldn't blame yourself." I told him, knowing in the back of my mind that I knew exactly what had happened that day 3 years ago.

We sat in silence for the rest of the train ride. Neither of us seemed to know what to say. My mind was racing with ideas of how to let him go and walk out of my life again. The last 3 years without him were torture, having to admire him from the background because I was too scared to run up to him. There were so many times I had wished I just took the chance and talked it out with him. Then all of this heartbreak I felt in the last few years wouldn't have been there.

"So, can you believe we're in our 4th year already? Wow time flies!" Dan said quietly, as if it were wrong to break the silence.

"Yeah... The years have gone by pretty fast. But I really can't wait to be done with school." I said just as quietly.

Dan nodded his head and went back to looking out the window. I couldn't seem to take my eyes off his beautiful face. Every feature was just perfect and they all made him even more special to me. I wanted to get up and hug him so bad, but I felt like that would just make this even more awkward. So I just asked him the one question that was bothering me right now.

"Why did you, uh, decide to talk to me now? Like, it been 3 years where we never even looked at each other and then all of a sudden you're back in my life." I said, trying not to seem rude.

I loved that he decided to talk to me today, but there was surely a reason behind it. He wouldn't just start talking to me out of nowhere... right?

well hey there sorry it's been so long I recently started school so I've been spending all my time with that and homework.
I know this is a pretty short update but I wanted to get something done at least.
I'm trying to write tons right now and I'll update them when I can.
