*DAN POV*
I was sat in my compartment of the train watching all the other kids around me. They were catching up with their friends and talking about what they did over the summer break. Some were waving out the open windows to their relatives that came to see them off. I had my eyes on one particular boy that was waving to his very cheerful parents on the platform.
I smiled slightly as the boy gave one last wave and pushed the window closed. He turned around slightly and looked over at where i was sitting. I adverted my eye quickly and felt a blush find its way on to my cheeks. I looked up at the boy again with slightly pink cheeks and smiled sheepishly. The boy smiled back and made his way over to my compartment.
"Is there any open seats in here?" The boy asked, looking around. I noticed he had a northern accent and he looked around the same age as myself.
I looked around and saw all the empty seats, but merely shrugged at the boy.
The boy just looked at me and took his gesture as an invitation to sit down. He put his bags next to him on the seat and looked at me expectantly.
"What?" I said to the strange boy.
"Nothing." He replied.
There was a few minutes of awkward silence before the boy spoke to me again.
"So are you a first year as well?"
I nodded.
"What house do you think you're going to get?"
I shrugged.
"You don't talk much do you?"
This time I replied.
"I'm the complete opposite, actually. But only once I get to know the person. But in the beginning, I guess you could say that."
The boy nodded and looked back down at his lap. I continued looking out the window at the mountainside we were rushing past. But I would secretly steal a glance at the boy whenever I could.
What I didn't know was that the boy was doing the same.

so these chapters will probably be really short until stuff actually starts happening
its kinds boring right now but i hope it gets better and more interesting
