Chapter 14: Brothers & Friends (part 3)

•Xander's memories at 15 yrs old•

It's been 5yrs since the day of the disappearance of the alpha and mine, the beta, sisters...everyone pretty much got over Jessica and Desheaya being gone. Well, everyone but Shea's mother. Adiko Féontté.

•Xander's knowledge•

Adiko, the former Luna but we still call her Luna for honor, was named after the first birthed cheetah that roamed the earth. Atarmi, the sun goddess, had a mate that was a cheetah, the very first cheetah. Unlike her sister, Artemis the moon goddess was already born what she'd mate with, a werewolf.

That left Atarmi as a goddess without her beast awakened. She was trapped in human form. When she mated with her husband, a cheetah, her cheetah awoken and she gave birth to seven sons. She longed for a baby girl.

As Atarmi grew older the hope of having a little girl was thin and she became severely depressed. She mated for the last time and fell pregnant. Her sons, well off in their teens, threw a big party that lasted 3 days. As the time came to give birth and to find out what it was, all the cats waited anxiously.

Atarmi healed almost immediately after giving birth. Later that night she announced that it was a baby girl and she called her Adiko. Another celebration was proposed which lasted a whole week and Atarmi was happy once again.

Adiko, Luna, was pretty good at hiding her feelings but we all knew she still mourned her only daughter. She used to be so happy and joyous but after her daughter disappeared she felt it was her fault and became like an old wise hag. She'd drown herself in herb studying, have tea in the gazebo or sit in her garden listening to the birds or reading a book.

Right now she finished making breakfast and told us to help ourselves before we went to school, she took a cup of coffee and the newspaper with her. She kissed her husband, the alpha, and exited the pack house.

Off school days I'd sit with her in the mornings and again in the afternoons on and not on school days. All of us headed to school which was right around the corner so we just walk there. The Féontté brothers and I, they'r beta, were halfway down the sidewalk from the school when I caught sight of the alpha twins, their little sister, their beta, and their betas little sister across the street in the direction of our neighboring pack, the True Moon pack.

I look back at Jake and the guys seeing that they had already seen them and started waving at them. "Hey!" Zion and Lena his sister say in unison. Lena Deiono had always had a crush on Jake, well more like on all of us, ever since we could remember. She was 10 but she'd tell us that she was going to marry one of us when she got older ever since she could talk.

Her best friend, Ariel Baywood, was the total opposite of her alpha friend. While Lena was outgoing, stubborn, and feisty with pretty woodsy blond hair and hazel gray eyes. Plummy soft lips, and white freckled skin covering her medium size body; Ariel, Lena's beta, was shy, sweet, and soft spoken. She had jet black hair cut evenly at her shoulders, icey blue eyes with a petite face and body to fit her personality.

Ariel was the source of beauty. Like Lena, I had always liked her since I can remember. I was pretty sure she would be my mate but you never knew with the moon goddess. They crossed the road to us and merged in so smoothly that it was like everyone knew where to go.

Zion began to walk next to Jake; Legend, and Zayn put Lena between them with Judah, and Oliver on either side of them as they began to walk behind Zion and Jake; lastly, Ariel and Lodi slowed behind everyone and placed me between them making us be the last of our small group.
