Chapter 20: Haunted Memories

•Xander's POV•

I came to when I heard Jake calling me as he patted my cheek. My eyes flicker open, I can somehow still see Jake with my eyes glazed over. His voice was muffled as he yelled to the others of my awakening. I closed my eyes trying to focus on getting my senses back when I suddenly remembered why I was here and what had happened.

My eyes shot open almost at the same time I jumped up. My heart began to thump so viciously that it felt as though my heart was pumping pure anger and anxiousness into my veins that my wounds healed almost instantly but my hands and legs began to shake. I saw Zion pace back-and-forth in front of the opening, he frequently ran his hand through his hair or fold his arms across his chest while looking down.

I couldn't calm myself so I ran to Zion and grabbed his arms on either side of him.

"Zion, I am so sorry. I tried to do the best I could but he was just so big! His men looked like clones of his body! I didn't expect to be defeated with one swipe." I begged for him to understand that I took full responsibility. The whole time I spoke, I knew it was his worried face but it looked like he was about to rip off my head at any moment.

It took awhile but he started to comprehend what I said because his face, eyes, and muscles relaxed. It was his turn to place his hands on the sides of my arms. He smiled.

"I know, Xander. It's not your fault." My heart sunk as I realized just how much he's changed since his Luna came into his life. He hugs me at the same time I reach to hug him. "Thank you for mind linking me and telling me everything as it happened." He says as he releases our hug. Placing his hands back on my arms again, his face hardens like before but he looks down, "after you said the name of his alpha and the mans description, I think we might know who-"

"Alpha Zion, I don't mean to cut you off but there's something I have to tell you." He looks back at me and drops his hands from my arms while everyone that was sniffing for clues and exchanging notes about the rouge and his little gang stopped as if my words ceased time. Zion nods for me to continue.

I inhaled sharply as I revert my eyes to the grass behind him. "She's pregnant." I whisper. Just as I had spoken those words Zion's blue sacred symbol on the back of his neck glowed as he growls then shifts into his white wolf others following behind him.

A hand rested on my shoulder from behind me. I turned to find the former beta of our pack, my father and mother behind him. I gulped and looked at the floor. "Son, that's the reason you instinctively protected her more, isn't it." He stated more than questioned.

"Xander! We need you!" Jake yelled from the other side of the vined curtain. "Aqua, let him go. Talk about this later when they return." My mother calmed. He exhales giving me permission to leave then turns to face his mate. I started to leave as my father started to complain to my mother, "Now, Priscilla darling, I just wanted to know his true intentions that's all."

I exited coming in contact with Jake, his brothers, the very best from our Skyhook Pack and True Moon Pack. "Ok guys they're at the next territory over. Jezreal Sanders is who we're going after." Zion informs as he starts to lead all of us towards Desheaya. They're pretty far away even in wolf form. Thunder, my wolf, says.

I know hopefully we can make it there in enough time though. I tell him.

•Desheaya's POV•

I open my eyes, all my senses coming back to me. I find myself on an all too familiar couch, as I look around I knew exactly where I was. Jezreal walks in with the man who abducted me making me grow with anger. I jump out of the couch drawing their attention to me. Their eyes and mouth wide in shock.
