•JESSICA'S POV•
It took everything in me to not loose my composure. As I now held Shea in my lap I felt as though my world was crashing down. 'She'll wake up in the morning' I kept telling myself. Well, I hoped she would.
Akeyla was quiet the whole time I held her beloved twin. Once she heard Shea's gut wrenching scream we became panicked and ran as fast as we could to her. We trusted Shea but her safety was in our hands. And ever since that scream Akeyla withdrew and hasn't spoken to me since. When we arrived to see Xavier Knotts, the last blood heir of the most powerful king vampire, over her than Akeyla became angry and lashed out at them. Making sure none of them survived. When Knotts tried to run I ran after him but couldn't catch him because I knew he was going to kidnap Shea if I kept running. I returned in just enough time to see Shea pass out so she knew I was there for her.
Akeyla's not mad at me but probably disappointed in herself for not taking care of her sister. I tried telling her that it wasn't her fault but every time I'd tell her something like that, she'd just ignore me and keep the links that connected us closed.
I hadn't realized how tired I became until I found myself trying to keep my eyes open. I decided to give in but before I could do that I had to make sure Xavier couldn't find us. I gently lifted Shea off me and set her on the cold hard ground. Going in search for something to tie with.
When I couldn't find anything I ripped a piece of thick cloth and returned to an unconscious Shea. I slid my arm under her back and lifted her to a sitting position. I wrapped the thick string of cloth around her to where if I carried her than she wouldn't fall off me.
Once I was done I hoisted her on my back and I began to walk through the woods. I walked around the once again peaceful lake and continued the walk in the direction we were going before we ran into the beautiful lake.
After walking for what felt like years but was only about five hours I decided to stop and rest awhile. I fell on my face but when I did I heard an "umph". I knew it wasn't me which meant it had to be Shea! But in that second I was out like a light.
When I came to I was laying on the floor facing the burnt out fire and with the sun warming my back and the cloak I covered Shea with draped over me. I have to admit it felt nice and I thought about drifting off to sleep again. I smell the cloak..."Mmmm, smells like Shea." I whisper to myself. Shea! I snapped my eyes open and jump up and stand in an attacking position, my eyes scanning the area.
"Ah, I see you've woken up! How was your night? Oh and where are we and why was I on your back? Did something happen?" Shea asks as she walks to the fire place and dumps a whole load of fire wood in the place where the fire must've been but burnt out. I visibly clam and sit on a stump. I look up to ask her where she's been and how long she'd been up when I catch something glistening on her.
"Shea, what are you wearing on your neck?" I ask in suspicion
She looks down to where I'm looking at on her neck. "Oh this?" She asks as she holds it up so it dangle at her fingertips. "I don't know. I found it on the floor as I was picking up sticks for the fire." She explains and sits on the opposite log to where we're both facing the small camp fire.
"It glowed when I put it on and it seemed to be glued to my skin but when I looked it just burnt this crescent moon mark on my chest. And the glow went away."
I stand as straight as a board, my mouth dropped and my unblinked eyes wide in shock. I realized what Shea now became. "Desheaya, that necklace has been the top idem every creature has been looking for since the King vampire died."
I hadn't even realized how much she changed! "Shea, your hair is thick and Carmel brown and all the way down to your knees!" I exclaim aloud. I looked down to her hand with the stone. I walk over to her, she slowly stands. Raising her left hand up in shock I say, "Shea, your stone is of all the colors of the rainbow!"
