Chapter 22: Surprises

"No way!" All of us whipped our heads around to glare at Taraji at the back of our little group. I was the first to look back at the opened tree. "What's your name?" I sweetly questioned but she didn't answer. I exhaled, "Listen, I know you're alive and awake, your heart is beating pretty loud and fast." I exclaimed.

Her eyes opened and her gaze settled on Ebony. She jumped out of the tree crushing it in the process of shifting into a tiger. My eyes were wide but I was not surprised, Well, that explains the abnormal heartbeat. I told my wolf, Rohan, and he laughed his agreement. Her tiger took everyone including Ebony by surprise though because she now pinned him to the floor and left everyone running around in a panic.

I roll my eyes as I walk to the harmless tiger growling and occasionally hissing at him. Annoyed, I grab her neck of fur and yank her off but she didn't stop growling, in fact she roared at him as he got up like a frightened bully who got nocked down by a bigger person, and struggled out of my grasp.

I chuckled at how fast Ebony climbed a tree BACKWARDS! Seeing that she'd calmed down a little, I make the mistake of setting her down. She rushes to climb up after him. While she was halfway to Ebony, "Stop!" One eyebrow rose as my head slightly tilted towards the voice behind me. I smirked, it was Shea. She wobbled passed me as I crossed my arms over my chest and spread my legs in a set stance, my smirk slowly growing.

She stopped a few feet away from the tree, "Get down!" She commanded and the tiger did so. Shea had one hand planted on her waist and the other pointing to the floor as she gave her command. The tiger purred then laid on her belly but slowly creeped up to Shea's feet. Shea turned around in my direction but she seemed to look past me. I unfolded my arms and planted my hands on my waist.

A white sheet was tossed to her, she grabbed it as she turned back around. "Shift" she commanded and right before the girl completely shifted, Shea threw the sheet on her. When the sheet landed, two arms grabbed the remaining of the sheet and covered herself. Then....another growl broke loose but this one was from one of us.

"Lodi?" I questioned with an eyebrow raised. He tore away from the crew that came with me on this search. "Mate" he growled as he threw himself on her as she stood. She slammed against the tree Ebony barely came off of. Lodi dug his nose in her neck, soaking up her scent as he tried to open the sheets that were clinched at her beasts but she wouldn't allow him.

He growled and she hissed, she hit his head like a domestic cat would making him instantly bury his canines in the crook of her neck. She squirmed from underneath him causing him to growl and sink his teeth deeper. "Aren't you going to stop him? He's obviously going too far with his teeth!" Ebony whispered.

I glanced at him, "No....I'm not." I tell him boringly.

"Well why not?"

"You'll find out soon."

"Why can't you just tell me?" He started to sound annoyed. That makes two of us.

I glance at him again, "I'd be robbing you from your experience." I glance back at the now detached couple. "It's best that you find out through experience. You'll thank me later." I smirk as I walk to my mate who was hugging the "new girl". Lodi's mate, the reckless tiger, was now calm and obedient and attached to his side.

I sucked in a deep breath as I approached them. Wrapping an arm around my pregnant mate, I turn to my beta, "Lodi, I have some questions for your mate that I need answers to." His lips parted, clearly not wanting his newly found mate alone with another man. I smirked, "Don't worry, she can answer them here and now." Lodi was more comfortable with that because he closed his mouth and smiled, "Thanks, Alpha."
