Chapter 4: Revealing

JESSICA'S POV

•Before dinner the night Shea left•
Shea had left to help mrs. Sanders- I mean mother with the dinner. Shea's mom always wants me to call her mother cause I live here so I'm practically her second daughter. Well I could be since Shea was adopted and if you get one than you get the other right. Akeyla has always been uneasy about the whole 'doing this for Shea's protection' thing. She doesn't trust them and thinks there's more than what they're telling about why they kidnapped her and I. 'They just kidnapped you because 1) your her beta and 2) you were there when you weren't supposed to' Akeyla says. Not true! I tell her and roll my eyes.

•FLASHBACK•
"Jess, there are bad guys here and daddy needs to use his special powers to get the bad guys out ok?" My daddy says kneeling in front of me in the kitchen with his huge hard hands on my tiny slim shoulders.

I don't know what happened to mommy or big brother but I heard a bloody scream that made me jump and before I knew it, I was being carried outside in the woods with my eyes covered but I can hear the blood and bones breaking and screams echoing as I was drawn further and further away.

After what seemed like hours of running we stop and I was set on the afternoon ground. "Baby, run to the nearest cabin and hide there till one of us comes and gets you ok!" Daddy says but once he says that a growl erupts from behind him. He turns around and stretches out his arms palms facing me. I can already see the glare he gives the werewolf who dare threatens his daughter.

In attacking stance the enemy shifts to a wolf and so does my father. They growl furiously as they charge each other. As they come together I hear a snap and the enemy falls limp to the ground.

My hero turns around slowly, charges after me snatches me up and keeps running to safety. Making it to the back of what looks like an old run down cabin we stop.

Daddy puts me down again but this time for good. He sits on his knees and hugs me. "I'll always protect you." Still hugging me something pushes us and feel something wet on my chest. I break away from him and see a sword has run through him. I gasp and cover my mouth with both of my small hands. "Jessica protect your alpha." Than he falls flat on his face. A man draws the sword from my father rushes to me and hits me with the back of his sword on my head. The next day I came to and was greeted with my current parents.

That day I was put in daycare and ran into a little girl about my age. "Oh I'm sorry!" She tells me. I step back so I could see who I hit. I gasp as I remember what my father said. 'Protect the alpha'. The connection grows and I follow my instinct. She's my alpha. I stretch my arm out to shake her hand. "Hi I'm Jessica but you can call me Jess. Want to be my friend?" The other girl jumps and squeals "Yes I want to be your friend! My name is Shea!"

"Are you okay, Jess?" Jezreal says taking me out of my memories. How long has he been looking at me?

"I'm fine, why?" I say as I look down trying to avoid his gorgeous gray eyes and attempting to stay focus on his strong arms. HA! Yeah right! As soon as I look at his flawless body my talking ability and what we were talking about just exited my conscience!

"Jess," he puts a hand on my shoulder, "whatever you do, you MUST protect Shea. Wherever she goes you go understand?" He says as he's now hugging me.

"Yeah, I understand." I barely tell him in a whisper I don't think he could've heard.

Jezreal and I always had feelings for each other but never admitted it for the sake of Shea and our friendship. And also to save ourselves for our mates. He's an alpha and Jake, my brother, is his beta. They could easily have whatever they want. Jake has always loved Shea he says he feels somewhat protective of her and wants her to be his. But he's never tried anything with her because he thought it'd scare her and put her in a shock.
