A/N- Hey humans!
I'm feeling good about this book so far. Nervous, but still feeling good.
I'm just taking it slow and figuring everything out at the moment so I make sure I don't stuff up. (Hehe) and sorry if this chapter is a little shit but I've been distracted lately. Sorry.
Please enjoy reading and also please follow my Instagram (@Sian2468)

---------------Chapter 3 ~ You're The First
Jacob P.O.V
I had to get away from all the yelling.
Paisley decided that she wanted to come over to the apartment and sort things out with Chase.
You can imagine how that went since I'm currently dining alone in my favorite diner, slowly sipping at a hot chocolate.
Don't judge me, coffee is gross.
People meander in and out as I stay hidden in my red booth. I look at the algebra papers in front of me on the table and groan, knowing I have to do at least do some of it.
"Would you like another?" A waitress comes over and gestures at my now empty cup.
I look to the work in front of me and nod at the waitress. "Yes, thank you."
She takes the cup from the table and hurries off to make another hot chocolate. Algebra on a Friday is never going to be easy, but it beats listening to Paisley and Chase bite each others head's off.
"Hey, loner."
My head snaps up and my body tenses.
"Hey, Riley."
She slides into the seat opposite me and looks down at the algebra work on the table for a long while.
Please, Riley, won't you kindly join me.
Thanks for offering, Jake. It would have been rude of me just to sit down.
"That's wrong." She points a long finger at one of my answers on the page.
I frown and spin it around and read it again.
"What?"
"You didn't do it right." She shrugs, casually lighting up a cigarette. "That answer is wrong."
Riley Dean knows algebra? Since when?
"I can explain it if you want?"
"Uh, it's fine, thanks." I try to smile but I'm too confused.
The waitress suddenly returns and hands me a small white cup. "Your hot chocolate, sir."
Riley smirks and I feel like shrinking down in my seat until I'm ant size so I can sneak away.
"Excuse me young lady," the waitress turns to Riley and speaks firmly, "You cannot smoke in here, take it outside."
Riley rolls her eyes and uses the saucer my cup is on to put out her cigarette. She exhales the last of the smoke through pursed lips and smiles cheekily at the waitress.
"Do you often drink your hot chocolate alone?" Riley turns to me again and leans back against the seat.
"Do you often sit down with people who didn't ask you to?"
That sounded more harsh than i meant it to so I added an innocent smile to soften the words.
"Someone's snappy today."
