I've got friends all over the place needing help and I'm just here trying to be supportive and been getting to bed late and not having time to write cause school is hectic and omg though.

I really need to keep pushing on with this book and everything. Sorry.

Chapter 22 ~ Gone

Riley P.O.V

"Oh, I don't think so." He says as I appear from the bathroom.

"What?" I frown

"No way."

"What are you talking about, Jake?"

I fumble with the hook of my necklace behind my neck. I walk over to Jake and face my back to him, suggesting for him to do it up for me. He takes it from my finger tips into his.

"I can't let you go see Hank in that dress."

"And why is that?" I roll my eyes.

He does up the necklace and it falls flat against my chest. The cut of my dress is admittedly quite low and shows some cleavage.

"I don't care if you guys are just friends. He is still a guy, and I know how guys think. Especially if they are as dirty minded as Chase."

"So we are back to not trusting me again are we?" I sigh.

"No, I trust you. It's these two I don't trust," He gestures to my breasts.

"Uh, excuse me," I mock scoff at him and he shrugs.

"I'm serious! Don't you have anything less.......revealing?"

"You wanted to say slutty then, didn't you?" I smile.

"No! I....I didn't!"

We both laugh at ourselves and I assess my makeup and hair in the mirror.

"I didn't exactly pack for dinner with the queen, Honey. I just chucked clothes in a bag, and this is the only dress that I brought."

"At least wear a jacket or something. You'll be cold."

"Hmmm, to warm me up? Or to cover my attractiveness?"

"Hey. I could have made you wear a baggy sweater and track pants." Jake taunts, "Consider yourself lucky."

"Oh please. You couldn't make me do anything." I giggle as he slides a formal white jacket from my bag over my shoulders.

"That's true. You're to stubborn to listen to anyone."

"Oi!" I turn and playfully slap him in the stomach.

He laughs, then quietens as he leans down and kisses my lips softly.

"I do admit though, you are stubbornly beautiful." He says charmingly.

"I promise we will do something fun together tomorrow. Just you and me." I smile back and lean up to quickly kiss his cheek. "Bye."

"Riley." Jake says flatly, grabbing my hand before I'm out of reach.

I turn to him with a smile but it fades quickly. He isn't looking at me, but instead his eyes are fixed on something behind me. I follow his gaze to the television and my heart sinks. It has been on mute this whole time so I didn't even remember it was turned on.

Jake grabs the remote and turns the volume back up.

"....Approximately 46 students have been confirmed dead and a further 59 are in hospital under intensive care suffering severe burns."
