Chapter 13

Nico's POV

"See you tomorrow, Nico." Lauren gave me a sweet smile and I simply waved before walking back home. Man...this is so frustrating. All I want to do now is see and talk to Percy but of course it was impossible. Thanks, mum and dad.

I was only outside the door but I could already hear a lot of ruckus. As I stepped into the house, my eyes widened. Oh my gawd.

"Percy, calm down! PLEASE!" Reyna shouted, obviously really frustrated.

"Where's Nico? I need to talk to him!"

"He's not home yet!"

"Reyna? Is that you? Why do I hear a guy's voice that doesn't sound like Nico's?" Mum's footsteps could be heard as she walked down the stairs hurriedly. "AND WHO IS THIS YOUNG MAN?"

I walked towards them slowly. "Uhm...hey guys. I'm back?"

Everything happened so fast. The next thing I knew, we were all seated on the couch. By all, I mean including mum and dad. Reyna went back to her room as my parents didn't want her involved. This is not going to be good. I can already feel it.

"Would you kindly explain, uhm, Percy? Was it?" My dad stated calmly, arms folded and a frown on his face.

"Sorry for all the inconvenience Mr and Mrs di Angelo but I really needed to talk to Nico about something." Percy said nervously.

I looked at him, shocked. Seriously? "About what?"

"Uhm...it's about you and Lauren, actually. Reyna told me everything and I realised that I had misunderstood." Percy explained. "But if you didn't want to be with her, you should just tell your parents! No point keeping it to yourself."

"Hold up. What are you talking about? Nico is totally fine and in fact, really happy with Lauren." Mum said with confidence. "Right? Nico?"

"Sure...actually, no. About that..." My uneasiness just kept building up and I couldn't find the right words to say.

"Nico di Angelo."

"Sorry father but I have to say what's on my mind! I feel that it is totally unfair for me to be engaged to Lauren! I mean, we've only met and I really don't feel any connection between us to be honest." Damn. I am so screwed. At the same time though, I feel really relieved to let all my emotions out.

Instead of seeing my parents boiling with rage, they were actually...smiling at each other? I am confused.

"Finally! Gosh...it's really such a difficult task getting you to express yourself. However, we are happy you did." Mum said happily.

"What?" Percy asked, as lost as I am.

"Well I guess there's no point in forcing you to do something that you don't want to. We'll arrange to talk to Mr and Mrs Parker. Thank you too, Percy." Dad said.

"We'll leave you guys to talk." Mum stated, going upstairs with dad.

"Thanks a lot Percy. You helped me big time today." I smiled.

"Y-your welcome..." He replied, his cheeks dusted with a light pink.

"O! T! P! Ahhhhh!" Reyna squealed. "This is what I call true love. Well, gotta go write more fanfictions! Totally not on you guys. Psht."

"Reyna..."

"Oops. Time to go. Bye!" With that, she rushed up the stairs and locked herself in her room. Probably writing that fanfiction thing. Whatever it is.

Firstly, I want to once again thank you guys just because...you're all so sweet. Each and every one of you. I read every comment you leave for me and it never fails to make me laugh and put a smile on my face. ILYGSFM!
