Levi watched Margy in the hospital wing.
The nurse walked in.
"General, Ackerman?" She questioned. Levi stood up and composed himself.
"Hi." He greeted, the nurse shot him a mischievous look.
"Are you waiting for her?" She asked. Levi looked at her with wide eyes, he looked at Margy's unconscious body.
"Tch. Yeah, she's the only survivor of my team after all..." Levi said deadpanned. The nurse raised an eyebrow.
"Is that all?" She asked. Levi paused for a moment.
"Yeah." He replied. The nurse chuckled.
"She'll wake up soon." She smiled. Levi nodded.
"Thanks" He said. The nurse left the room and Levi was alone with Margy.
Margy twitched a little. She groaned, and opened her eyes half way.
"Hello?" She said. Levi griped Margy's hand.
"I'm here... Shhh..." Levi soothed Margy. Margy looked at him and smiled at the sight of him.
"You came back for me..." She muttered. Levi nodded.
"I promised you didn't I? It was my duty since you're the last member of my team that's alive." Levi said, sorrowfully. He was still in despair over his team, he looked at Margy.
Margy looked down.
"It's alright...I have to move on some how..." She whispered. Levi take her cheek in his hands and kisses her forehead.
"Get some rest..." Levi spoke. He left, shortly after Hanji came in.
"Margy~~ Shortie likes you~~" Hanji said.
"How do you know?" Margy asked, blushing wildly. Hanji smirked.
"Because he went after you! And you know what? I think you like him too~~" She grinned. Margy looked down.
"Hanji... I just figured out..." Margy muttered.
"Huh?" Hanji murmured. Margy looked to the side, her eyes full of fear and despair and sorrow.
"I figured out, that... My friends can die easily... I thought that if I trained hard enough, that no one would be taken from me." Margy admitted. "But even so... I was still too weak to save them... And history repeated itself... Do you know how that makes me feel?" Margy looked at Hanji with teary eyes. Hanji laughed a bit.
"Welcome to the army, kid." She said. "I know what your thinking. You're thinking of distancing yourself right? Away from your friends because you are afraid of losing them. But you know what? That doesn't suit you... It suits shortie but it doesn't suit you... So just move on! It's hard, we've all been there, but It's better than being in solitude." Hanji said. She patted Margy's head and smiled at her.
"You made Levi more sociable." She stated. Margy's eyes widened.
"Do you want to take that away from him?" Hanji questioned. Margy shook her head. Hanji smiled.
"Then keep being yourself..." She muttered.
Levi was in the dining hall, he was sipping his tea, he cringed. It wasn't as good as Margy's.
He felt a presence sit beside him and opened his eyes to see Margy beside him. His gaze softened at her, she smiled at him and looked down at the plate of food in front of her. Margy took a bite out of her bread.
Either Levi or Margy spoke a word.
They didn't need to, all they had to do... was sit.
And enjoy each other's company.
Hanji smiled at the two. She looked up.
"I wonder how many kids they're gonna have?..." She mused.
Margy looked at Levi once more, he looked at her with a raised eyebrow.
"What?" He asked. Marg shook her head.
"Nothing." She replied.
