"What's going on?" I couldn't see anyone or anything.
"What's wrong?" I heard a familiar voice call out to me.
"I can't see anything, what's going on?" I began to whimper.
"Don't freak out, it's perfectly normal. As you continue on in your day you'll begin to get your eyesight back. Just relax and it'll come quicker."
"But I can't see. I don't know where to go, or what to do." I felt an arm on my shoulder.
"Relax, I'll guide you. Just follow me." A tear escaped my eye, and I hoped they didn't see it.
"I'm Wendy by the way. What's your name?"
"Amy."
"Don't cry Amy, I'll take good care of you until you get your eye sight back." Wendy comforted me.
"Thank you, but where are we going?" I questioned.
"To my place. You'll get to relax there." I heard a click.
"What was that?" I tried looking for the source, but I couldn't see anything.
"I didn't hear anything. Don't worry we're almost to my place just a couple more blocks." She pushed me to the left.
"Okay there's about five steps you'll need to climb. Just take it slow."
One. Two. Three. Four. Five.
I don't know what I was thinking, but I thought there was another step. I lifted my leg and 'placed' it on a 'step'. I stumbled and fell to the floor.
"Oh my gosh! Are you alright?" Wendy questioned while helping me up.
"I'm fine."
As I entered her house my eyesight went from blurry to completely pitch black.
I screamed, "What happening to me?!"
"What's wrong?" I heard another voice.
"I can't see anything. Everything is completely black. Why is this happening to me?" I started crying.
"What's wrong with her?" I heard someone question.
"She's blind." I heard her whisper.
"Have you taken her..." Her voice trailed off.
My tears felt thick, they felt like if they would never stop.
A tear fell on the side of my lip. Instant reflex I licked it. It tasted nothing like a tear did. A normal tear would taste like salted water, but this tear tasted like iron.
"Look!" I heard someone shout.
"What's wrong with her?" I recognized Wendy's voice.
"Honey, you're bleeding?"
"I don't feel pain anywhere." I informed.
"Get her a napkin." She ran and reappeared, I heard her footsteps.
They whipped my eyes.
Was I bleeding from my eyes?
Is that why it tasted like iron?
"Don't panic, as long as you relax everything will be fine." Wendy comforted me.
I knew she was wrong, but I had to have sort of hope.
Little by little my eyesight returned.
From pitch black to once again blurry I started seeing figures.
I continued blinking and noticed a lady with black long hair, was that Wendy?
"Wendy?" She turned around. It was her.
"Yes?" she grabbed my arm helping me stand up from the floor.
"I can see," I informed.
"Oh my gosh. I was starting to get worried. Out of everyone I've ever known that was the longest time someone has been blind."
"Exactly how long was I blind?" It didn't seem like a long time, it felt like minutes.
"You were out for hours. I was beginning to think there was no hope."
What was going on?
"What happened to me?"
"When someone feels scared or in danger their eyesight disappears.
BOOM!
In the distance I heard a heavy thump. It wasn't a gun shot, it wasn't a wrecking ball, it sounded more like something heavy had fallen.
"What was that?"
"I don't hear anything?" Wendy tried listening.
Was I the only one who heard noises?
It couldn't be just me. Something weird was going on.
I tried walking to the door but every step I took it became harder to walk. As I looked down I noticed a thick red liquid: blood!
