I arrived in the office after being gone for 15 minutes.

"This is beginning to be a habit of yours, you won't be here long." Some guy who sits next to my desk informed me.

"Like if it's any of your business but I had permission to leave-" He gave me a 'yeah sure, I believe you look.' "By Jessica." He looked down.

"I'm sorry, I didn't know." He didn't bother to make eye contact. "I'm Ben by the way."

"Amy." I extended my hand to greet him.

"Listen Amy, I don't know if you know this but it's never a good idea to get close to the boss, if anything things could get worse." He whispered.

"Why is that? She seems like a really nice person." I confessed.

"She is, but once you make one little thing wrong and you're close to her, she will destroy you." he put emphasize on the 'close'.

"How?" I didn't understand, Jessica has been so nice, but I still remembered the first day, how she got real upset with me for arriving late.

"She's never gotten mad at me and I don't want her to. I've heard she doesn't go easy on you, doesn't matter if you're good friends with her, she will show no mercy." Ben turned back to his office to continue working.

Jessica was real sweet, that's why it came as a shock to hear she could be so cruel.

"You have called the help hotline. How may I help you?" trying my best to have a smile.

"It's you." Me? Things couldn't get any more creepy... wait, they just did.

"Hello? Who is this?" I bet I sounded worried.

"Sandra? You're alive!" This couldn't be the lady from yesterday.... could it?

"I believe you have the wrong number, this is the help hotline and I am not Sandra." I tried to make her understand.

"No. I'd recognize that voice anywhere. It's really you Sandra. I knew you were alive! Everyone told me you were dead, but I knew they were wrong. No one believed me when I told them you weren't dead, but alive." She talked so fast I could hardly keep up.

I stayed quite just listening to her, "Sandra? Are you still there?"

"Listen ma'am, for the last time, I am not Sandra." Why wouldn't she listen to me?

"Sandra! I know it's you. It's me, Susan. Don't you remember me?" Susan? I thought long and hard about the name, but nothing came to mind... except what Jessica had told me about her.

"You must be mistaking me with someone else." I didn't know what else to say. "Listen, I can't talk right now, last time my boss got mad at me for answering this call, but I have this feeling that maybe you can help me."

"If it's to make you remember me, I'll do anything." She confided in me.

"It isn't safe to call here, but you can call me in my number- write it down." As I gave her my number I realized I could be in so much trouble for doing this, but I needed to know more about her and her relationship with Sandra. "I must go, but call me at 10. Don't call this number anymore." Not waiting for a response I hung up. I couldn't get caught talking to her again, I could get fired.
