"You are done for the day." Jessica sneaked up at me.

I jumped and turned around to see her. "You scared me!" I playfully tapped her shoulder.

"I am so sorry, I didn't mean to. I came by to congratulated you for your first day. You came, learned, arrived late for lunch," she gave me a look, "and now you're done for the day." she silently clapped her hands and pretended to wipe an invisible tear from her eye.

I laughed and thanked her, "Thank you, and about earlier- I am sorry." I smiled.

"Don't worry about it anymore, and I too am sorry. Now go, tomorrow you have to come early for work." she made a hand gesture to shoo me away.

I began walking when I remembered Abby had asked me to come by the cafe after my shift finished.

As I approached the cafe I noticed a women outside looking for something, more like someone since she had her chin high while looking left and right of the street. It wasn't until I got closer that I realized the women outside was Abby, the waitress.

"AMY!!" she shouted while waving her hand up in the air. "Hurry up! I need to talk to you." she grabbed my hand and led me all the way to the back of the cafe. There were people still eating and having conversations, once we passed by they kept staring at us, but we continued walking. We walked all the way to the back of the whole cafe. Once we were alone in a small room she looked around making sure no one was around and then stayed silent. I kept looking at her, waiting for her to say something, but nothing came out of her mouth.

"Well... here we are... in a room... at the very back of the cafe... and I'm waiting... waiting for you to tell me... waiting... yup... totally normal..."

Abby laughed out loud. "You're so funny Amy." she slapped me in the back.

When she finally calmed down she whispered in my ear, "I need to show you something."

I started getting freaked out. "Show me what?"

"Wait," she continued looking at me.

"Wait for what? What are we doing back here? What are you gonna show me?"

"Just wait." I waited for what seemed like five minutes. I was getting really impatient.

Just when I was about to say something I heard a click.

"What was that?" I questioned.

I was terrified for what's to come. "Okay let's go."

What? What was that all about?

"What just happened?" She kept walking and I just followed her.

Apparently there was an upstairs in the cafe, she walked up and into a pink colored door.

"Is this your room?" I asked as I walked in.

Pink wallpaper, a capital 'A' above a purple queen sized bed, a marble desk with a laptop on top of it and a dresser covered in photographs of people, and in every shot there she was, posing for the camera.

She sat down in her bed and placed a box in front of her.

"Where'd you get that from?" She ignored my question.

"Sit down." I did as I was told.

She kept looking at the box, never taking her eyes away from it.

Finally, she looked into my eyes and said, "This is for you. When you left I had remembered something Sandra told me before she left. She had begged me to take care of this, and the moment we had in the closet, it was what she taught me. She build it herself and taught me how to make it work. The moment she left I had forgotten about it, until- you show up. When you left I found myself walking to the closet and remembered what Sandra had told me. She said 'I don't know when, but I will come back, and I might not remember anything or why I did, but I want you to give me the box, and tell me everything I told you about it.' So here we are now." she handed me the box.

I tried opening it, but I couldn't. "Why can't I open it?"

I continued trying to open it, but she placed her hand over mine, "In time, for now I must explain."

I was so confused. "What's inside?"

"I can't say anything to you just yet. When you learn to open it, then I will explain it all."

Nothing she said was making sense.

"But you just told me you were going to explain." I reminded her.

"Yes, but in time. When you're ready to hear everything, that's when I'll explain." she kept looking at me like it was simple math. I wait, she tells me when I'm ready, I open the box, I get informed about everything, how much simpler can it be?

"I really can't deal with all of this. I have work tomorrow, Abby. Either you explain or I leave."

She kept looking at me with a serious face.

She then formed a smile, "I'll see you tomorrow then?" I exhaled and began walking towards the door. She wasn't going to tell me anything so I might as well leave.

"Wait," Abby called back to me.

I knew she would come to her senses and tell me

"Don't forget the box." she extended her hand that was holding the box.

I guess she was going to make me wait.

"Of course." I grabbed the box and began walking downstairs.

"You're so mean to me!" I shouted with sarcasm heading downstairs and about to walk into the cafe. I guessed everyone heard me. When I walked in everyone in the cafe just looked at me.

"I could be mean too, if you like that..." Jeremy winked at me.

"Gross." I walked past him and outside the cafe.

"Hey, wait," Jeremy called out to me.

"What?" I turned around.

"I don't know what Abby told you or anything, but I do know that sometimes she takes things to far. I couldn't help but overhear parts of your conversation. I could help you open the box," he got closer to me, "If you want." closer. "If you do something for me, of course."

By that moment we were almost touching noses.

"Are you trying to flirt with me?" I took a step back.

"If that's what you want to call it, then I guess I am..."

I stayed silent, still looking at him.

"Suit yourself," he walked backwards into he cafe holding his arms up like if he were to say 'what'.

"Wait." I walked back inside.

"To late sweetheart, you had the chance, you didn't take it, the offer is gone." he grinned.

"Ugh! Really? You're gonna be like that?" I began walking away. "Fine!"

If I played hard to get, would he follow me? I turned around to see if he would. He was 'flirting' with some random girl. Guess he wouldn't follow me.

"Just my luck. Why can't something good ever happen to me?" I soliloquised.
