I woke up to the smell of turkey bacon, I looked over at my alarm clock and it was 6:00. I slowly got up, I got dressed and walked down stairs. I fallowed the sent of the turkey bacon and it ended at the kitchen. Thare was the plate of cooked bacon on the counter, I ran to it and picked up a peace, dad must of made it before he whent to work I thought. I took a bite and it as delicious, I haven't had turkey bacon in a long time. I got a plate and loaded it with bacon and sat at the table.
After I finished I packed my bag, brushed my teeth and my hair, and I whent outside to wait for the bus. I whent outside and waited for the bus. David pulled up in his truck, waving for me to get in so I did, and we drove off.
"So you excited for the party?" he asked still looking at the rode. The rode was very bumpy, and the truck was old, so it jerked.
"Ya, I am," I answered him.
"Don't tell Maya this but, there's going to be a big surprise at her birthday party," he said, I gave him a questioning look. "Don't look at me like I now something." I gave him a disappointing look. "Ok, ok it has something to do with a rock wall." I got excited.
We arrived at school and David parked the truck and got out. We walked to class holding hands. We sat in our seats as the teacher started the lesson. All through class I tried to resist looking at the back of David's head, I no, I'm weird. Finally the bell rang for lunch time. Me and him where about to leave when the teacher called him back. 'See you later' he mouthed, I shrugged and whent and got my lunch. I walked to the edg of the school grounds and sat down, opened my lunch bag and pulled out a salmon sandwich, and took a big bite, and swallowed it. I finished it and go up.
Not thinking any one would be her I shifted and was about to walk into the bush when I herd a gasp. I turned to see Ralph standing there looking startled.

I quickly shifted back, and slowly walked up to him h was covering his eyes like he expected for me to be naked.
"Ralph what are you doing here?" I asked slowly.
"I came to talk to you when I saw you shift into a cat," he said opening his eyes. "How can you do that eney way?"
"Well I was able to shift when I was 13, I can also.." I said and flexed my hands and my claws came out then I shredded them.
"Are you sher you don't have a birthmark?" He said and I shook my head. He lifted up his shirt and there was a birthmark that amazingly looked like a cats paw. "I'm looking for a girl that has this exact same birthmark."
"Why?" I asked.
"Well thare as a race of skin walkers they had children and their children wasn't able to shift. So thare was like this itch you couldn't scratch and it drives us crazy so scientists figured out how to reactivate the gene."
"Reactivating a skinn walkers powers?" I asked.
"Right," he answered. "Like me, my sister Anne, and others."
"The girl your looking for," I said.
"Right, I thought it was you, but when I saw you change then chang back, in free will, I new I wasn't you," He said and I gave him a questioning look. "Ann, she started to shift but she can't control when she does. And she is acting more like a animal more than a human. The sciences started with her first and when it ended up a success they did the others. Then one of the mothers over herd one of the sciences talking about taking away the babys so the mothers ran and split up. Well then mom thought they over reacted. Ann she shifts more and more each day and I'm afraid she won't be able to shift back."
"But thats not right? Obviously shap shifters are still human. Something whent rong with the experiment didn't it?" I asked. He nodded then I continued. "Thats why your hear, to find another subject. Hoping to find leads to the group how did this, to see if they can fix her." He nodded.
"When mom new she had cancer she started looking for the other subjects. She contacted someone who new where one girl was, hear. When mom was dieing she told me if eney thing whent rong to come hear and lok for her. She had he name of the town and what her mom looked like but thats all I had," he sad.
"So you whent through the girls looking for a birthmark. See if she new eney information of who did this to you. You where looking for a native girl though," I said.
"No I wasn't, her moms white," he said correcting me. "Thats why I thought it could be you when you talked about your cougar encounter. Is there eney one els like you?"
