“Do it, you know you want to. . .” Said a strange voice that sounded utterly too familiar. I looked back at the closet door that was wide open, and sitting in a box were disposable razors.
Maybe just one little cut wouldn’t hurt?
The razors taunted me, and they begged to be in my hands.
“Do it!” The voice yelled at me, and I couldn’t tell if this voice was real or not.
I walked back to the closet and took a big breath in; after all what Andy stood for I was going to do this, he wanted me to love myself for who I was, and to never chose to do bad things to myself—I was defying him, my . . . dad.
I took one of the razors and disassembled it, I had four blades that would be my only friends, and I wouldn’t need anymore.
Now, this was the hard decision: where to do the damage?
My thighs? No, I like to where shorts.
Upper arms? No, I also like to where tank-tops.
Maybe my wrists? I wear lots of bracelets, so Andy and Juliet wouldn’t be able to notice.
I took one of the cold, metal blades and lightly cut two cuts on my left wrist: it just felt so good.
A line of blood formed on my cuts, and they all started to roll down my wrist. I took a tissue and dabbed at the blood; I pressed on it to make it stop bleeding, and I suddenly heard Andy or Juliet walk down the hallway.
I dumped my razors in my makeup bag and zipped it up, then I threw the bloody tissue away, and I unlocked the door and stepped out into the hall. Standing at the beginning of the hall was Juliet; there was sympathy in her blue-green eyes.
“Hey, wild child,” She said as she followed me into my room, we sat down on my bed and she continued, “Andy told me about what happened; I’m so sorry for making you go to that party. If I had known what they were going to do to you I would have never had you go.”
“It’s ok,” I mumbled, “I just want to go to sleep right now.”
