Hi all!
I hope you enjoyed reading this! I had a lot of fun writing it ^_^ It's always a delight to see your comments and excitement as the story progresses!
I wanted to leave this note to let you know that there will be another book after this. Currently, I'm working on a novella that will focus on the first half of season 9 (peep the cover art above).
I'm not sure when it'll be out in its entirety. I want to keep up the weekly updates, but as of right now, the novella is not completed, and I would like to make more headway before I publish. I am going back to University in September with the hopes of graduating next summer (at 28, it's about time!), so school will have to be my priority.
It's crazy to think that I am coming up to the age that Hope was in Daryl's Angel, and I am the age that she was in the original. What a crazy thought!
Anyway, back on track. I hope to write a third official book, but I will be totally honest in saying that I have no idea when I will write it. Part of me is still figuring out the plot, as the later seasons of The Walking Dead get a bit rough, and I want to try my hand at mingling the show and the comics together. Also, obviously a lot has changed since I didn't kill Carl! Gotta see how that goes, don't I?
I hope to actually finish this series. Last time I attempted to write this series, over ten years ago, I burnt out right around this time and pushed out a third book that I was not happy with. I do not want that to happen again. Rewriting it has been a wonderful way to see how I've grown as a writer, and as a bonus, it rekindled my love for Daryl (not that it ever went away).
I will say that the ending of the novella can be a stopping point, especially for those of you who want a happier ending to the story, a more hopeful ending. As I said, tackling seasons 10 and 11 will be a challenge, and while I want the ending to be happy, this is The Walking Dead, and death is a part of life.
I also do not know if I will adapt the show "Daryl Dixon." I have watched a few episodes, and I think it could have potential, but the last thing I want is to promise something I can not fulfill. I want to give some kind of satisfying ending to Daryl's Angel, as a whole.
I hope you stick around to see what I do! In the meantime, follow me for updates and feel free to leave a comment below with hopes and dreams for the novella.
