Regina's father got up and Regina followed. She looked back at Robin because she heard him getting up and smirked at him. "Oh no! You can't come look mister!"
"What? Why not?"
"You're not supposed to see my wedding dress or me in the wedding dress until I am walking down the aisle. It's bad luck! Duh!"
"Can't we break it this one time?"
"No! I want it to be a surprise! You know how many times you have surprised me? A lot! Can't I surprise you this time?" Robin smiled at Regina.
"Okay, you got me there. I won't look at your dress or with it on you until our wedding day!" Regina giggled and followed Henry into her parent's room. Henry walked to the closet and opened it up. He pulled back all of the dresses that belonged to Cora and found the box that was in the very back of the closet. He grabbed it and handed it to Regina.
"This was the same dress that she wore on our wedding day."
"Thank you Daddy!" Regina took the box from Henry and took the lid off of it. She looked inside and gasped at how gorgeous it was. "It's beautiful!" Henry smiled.
"I'm glad you like it. Why don't you try it on?" Henry walked out of the room to let his daughter have some privacy. After he closed the door behind him, Regina picked up the dress so she could see all of it. She let a tear fall down her cheek.
"Thank you, Mother!" Regina took off what she was wearing and stepped into the wedding dress. Once she had it on, she walked to the mirror to examine it on herself. It was tight around her chest all the way down to her stomach, and then it was fuller from the waist down. The top part of it was lace with some beading and the sleeves went down a little father than her elbows. They were lace as well. Regina loved it. "Daddy! Do you want to see?" Henry opened the door and stepped inside. When he saw Regina in her mother's dress he started crying. "Daddy, what's wrong?"
"My little girl is growing up! You keep getting even more beautiful as you get older. Honestly I don't know if I like it!" He gave a little laugh. "You're fixing to get married and probably have kids. Oh my! I'll be a grandpa! Now I really don't like the thought of you getting older!" Regina and her father laughed in unison.
"Daddy! You're going to be an amazing grandpa! I'm sure you'll love it! You'll probably spoil them to death, too!"
"You're probably right!" Henry's facial expression changed as he asked her the next question. "Regina, what about your mother?"
"What about her?"
"Well, will she ever come back? Will she ever get to meet her grandchildren?" Henry looked down at the floor. "I know all she did your whole life was beat you and torture you, but that's how she was raised. She didn't know anything else! I'm sorry I didn't try to stop her more when she was hurting you, but I tried before. She beat me senseless for doing it once when you were probably too little to even remember. In the end, she still hurt you and I was hurt as well. I even tried to escape with you once, but somehow she caught us and kept me in the basement for a whole two weeks without any food or water. I wasn't able to see what she did to you, but I'm sure it wasn't good." Henry had tears in his eyes and so did Regina. Regina walked up to her father and wrapped her arms around his neck embracing him in a hug.
"I'm sorry Daddy! I didn't know she hurt you too!"
"It's okay honey! There was nothing either one of us could do about it. Maybe it's best that she's gone. I would hate for her to try to hurt my grandchildren and I wouldn't be able to do anything about it."
