The doctor looked down at his feet. "It depends on how hard she hit her head of course, but there is something else I should warn you about."
"What is it?"
"Well..."
"What is it, Doctor Whale?"
"There is a possibility that when she wakes up, she won't remember some things. She could lose all of her memories with you and she might not. I can't tell you anything for sure, but looking at this bump on her head, she will more than likely have a few of her memories gone, if not more." Robin looked at Regina.
"So you're saying that when she wakes up there is a chance that she won't realize who I am?"
"Yes, I'm sorry Robin." Robin let a few tears fall. He blamed himself for this. He thought that if he wouldn't have just been thinking of how terrible a person he was and he would have just listened to her, she wouldn't have fell down those stairs.
"Thank you, Doctor Whale." Doctor Whale nodded his head toward Robin.
"When she wakes up come and get me."
"Okay." Robin climbed in the bed that was too small for the both of them. He just wanted to be beside his one true love that might not even remember him. "I'm so sorry Regina. I love you more than words can explain, yet I ignored what you were saying. I'm so sorry!" Robin laid beside Regina for a few hours. He was hungry but he wanted to be by her side when she woke up. Doctor Whale brought Robin some food and he ate. Then he laid back down.
It was getting later and Robin was about to doze off, but then he felt her move in his arms. "Regina?" She stretched and then held her hand to her head.
"OH! I have the worst headache!" She turned towards Robin and gave him a look of fear. "Wh-who are you?" Robin looked at Regina and started crying. "Do I know you? Are you okay?" Robin looked into her chocolate brown eyes.
"Yes, you know me, but no I'm not okay."
"How did I get here? The last thing I remember I was in the forest!" Regina sprang up from the bed and looked at Robin. "You said that I know you, and for some reason I almost believe you, so explain how I knew you!" Robin sat up on the bed and looked into Regina's eyes pleadingly.
"This is going to be really hard for you to understand, but we are soulmates." Before Robin could explain more Regina cut in.
"We can't be soulmates! I am, was, in love with someone else, not you!" Robin looked hurt. He knew that it wasn't really real because she didn't remember him, but it still hurt. "But don't even think about asking me who that was! No one knows except my mother. Wait, is she here?"
"Regina, we are soulmates. I love you and you loved me! I wish you can remember," Robin looked down and his feet,"Don't freak out, but your mother is here, but I will go put her in a cell if you would like me to."
"Why would you do that for me?"
"Because, Regina, I love you. You are my soulmate. I know a lot about you."
"Name one thing you know about me that only someone I trust would know."
"I can do that. I know who you loved."
"How could you possibly know that?"
"Because you told me yourself about a week ago. His name was Daniel." Regina looked shocked. She hadn't told anyone about Daniel, and the one person she did tell killed him. "Your mother killed him right in front of you. When she left you alone and went back into the house, you ran away. You went to the forest. Then you realized that you were going to have to become a thief. You stole from a princess and that's when you became a thief."
"I guess I did know you then."
"Yes, you did, m'lady."
"M'lady? I'm not for sure, but I think someone called me by that name before."
"That was me, actually." Robin smiled.
"Oh." Before anything else could be said between the two of them, Cora walked into the room frantic. Regina looked up and saw Cora. She scowled at her mother.
"Regina! Why you stupid girl, how could you be so foolish as to hit your head coming down the stairs?" Regina looked confused.
"What? I don't remember falling down the stairs, in fact, I don't even remember how I got this huge bump on my head."
"Nonsense! How could you forget?"
"What are you even doing in this place, Mother? And you," Regina turned to Robin,"You still haven't told me how I got in this place!" Cora realized that she must have lost her memory falling down the stairs. Now I can take Regina away from this man who thinks that he can boss me around. I am Cora Mills, no one tells me what to do!
"Well Regina.." Before Robin could say anything else, Cora started in on a lie.
"Regina, this man took you captive. This is the Evil King, Robin Hood. I heard he had taken you and it took all the energy I had to get through his people to get to you. He must have tortured you or thrown you against the wall or something. That's how you got that bump on your!"
"But Mother, you were just saying that I fell down some stairs."
"Well of course, I saw him throw you against the wall and you came rolling down the stairs!"
"Then why didn't you stop him with your magic?"
"My darling, I was just too weak at the time. Remember now, I had to fight my way through all the people in the castle to get to you. Let's go home."
"No! Regina, please remember me!"
"I don't know who to believe!"
"Here, I'll make the choice easier for you my darling." Cora snapped her fingers and sent her and Regina back to their own home.
"Regina! No! I will find you, my love! If I have to kill people to get to you, I will. I will get you back and hopefully I will find a way to restore your memory if it is the last thing I do!"
