Paramore
I should be over all the butterflies
But I'm into you
I'm into you
And baby even on our worst nights
I'm into you
I'm into you
Let em wonder how we got this far
Cuz I don't really need to wonder at all
Yeah after all this time
I'm still
Into you

Classes went on as usual for Mina and Ashton, aside from Mina's new friend Marcus.
They spent as much time together as they could, Ashton spent his with Kayla, the blonde girl who sat in front of him.
He learned that Kayla was short for Mikayla, her favourite colour was red, and she was a dancer. She seemed interested in him, seeing as they only had one class together. Regardless, they became very close friends and Ashton almost forgot about his feelings for Mina entirely.
Until that one day.
He was walking with Kayla to class when he spotted Mina and Marcus kissing in front of Mina's locker. It wasn't a full on snogging, but it made him uncomfortable, almost angry.
Kayla tugged his shirt to avert his attention and get to class on time.
Mina had dropped the class due to a different peak of interest. As it turned out, she switched into Marcus's third period class instead of his first.
Ashton sat with Kayla one row up from where he usually sat, holding her hand underneath the desks that were tightly pushed together.
She blushed, smiling to herself.
The class went on and Kayla could barely pay attention. She kept looking at Ashton writing his work down and never letting go of her hand. Fortunately, she was left handed and had no trouble with the hand holding at all.
"Do you...maybe...want to...come over...for dinner? Tonight?" She asked, her work done early in anticipation to ask him what she needed to get out.
He looked her way and nodded, a smile plastered on his adorable face. "I would love to."
She smiled back, "Okay. Cool. I'll see you tonight, then."
The bell rang for second period and the rest of the day went on as usual.
Luke would ask for help with his homework during lunch, Ashton would help him.
But today had been different. The boy with rainbow hair suddenly became interested in Ashton. Apprently, him and Luke had their last class together and they both needed help with their work. Michael was the same year as Ashton, held back in elementary school.
He talked through the work with them regardless of the strangeness of it.
Ashton went home to change before he met up with Kayla for dinner.
Mina was sitting at the kitchen table swinging her legs while talking with Ashton's mother.
"Oh, hey! I didn't know when you'd be home so I just came over right after school. Mom gave me the car today so I didn't need a ride." Mina smiled.
Ashton nodded and headed up to his room. Mina followed, confused by his attitude.
"Why are you acting so weird?"
"I'm not." He said simply, tugging off his shirt. It wasn't anything Mina hadn't seen before.
He pulled out two different button up plaid shirts from his closet. The only two he owned.
"Yes you are! Why are you getting dressed up?"
"Going over to Kayla's for dinner. Thought I'd make a good first impression on her parents." He put on the blue button up instead of the red, as blue was Mina's favourite.
"Why have you been ignoring me all day?"
"I haven't." He buttoned the buttons on his shirt and combed his hair through to keep it, mostly, out of his face.
"Then why did you just turn away when I tried to talk to you in the hall?"
Ashton shrugged.
"Ashton." Mina blocked the door so he couldn't exit. "Talk to me."
Ashton sighed and glared at her.
"Come on I'm your best friend. Talk. To. Me."
"I'm in love with you, alright? I have been since kindergarten."
Mina stepped away from the door and Ashton slumped downstairs.
"Mi madre, I'm going to a friends house for dinner. Cool?" He asked.
"Sure. You know your curfew."
"Midnight. Got it. I'll be home before then. Thanks." He grabbed his car keys off the hook in the main entrance and left in a hurry after glancing up the stairs where Mina sat quietly on them.
