This is my heartbeat song and I'm gonna play it
Been so long I forgot how to turn it up up up up all night long
Oh up up all night long
This is my heartbeat song and I'm gonna play it
Turned it on but I know you can take it up up up up all night long
Oh up up all night long

Ashton drove to the address Kayla texted him and knocked on the door.
Kayla greeted him and invited him inside.
Kayla's parents were in the kitchen preparing a pasta dinner.
"Hello." Kayla's father held out a hand. "You must be Ashton. Arthur Farnsworth. Good to meet ya."
They shook hands and Kayla's mother introduced herself, still standing at the stove.
"Caroline. But call me Lynn." She smiled, stirring the pasta sauce in a sauce pan.
"Pleasure." Ashton said, staying close to Kayla. The only other parents he'd met of friends were those in elememtary school.
He wasn't usually social in school.
They all sat down and talked about anything that came up; school, sports, anything that came to mind.
Ashton told them that he was graduating early, and that he got a new job at the bookstore in town. Kayla's family was sweet, friendly. But there was something off about them.
Kayla would glance at them out of the corner of her eye and look scared for but a moment.
There was a secret she wasn't telling Ashton.
After dinner, Ashton helped clean up and put the dishes away. Kayla brought him down into the basement where her room was to do some talking. They left the door closed, her parents didn't mind.
"So." She started. "You're good at math, huh?"
"That's not at all what you want to talk about." Ashton let out a laugh.
Kayla giggled. "No, its not."
Ashton took her hand in his, giving her a look to start talking. Whatever she had to say, she could say it.
"What are we?" She breathed out, looking up at Ashton.
He kept her hand in his and with the other brushed her hair away from her face. He kissed her, slowly, lovingly.
Eyes closed, hearts racing like crazy, they didn't pull away for a full ten seconds.
"Together." Ashton bit his lip a tiny bit. "If you want to be."
Kayla smiled and nodded her head yes. "Definitely."
Ashton smiled and pulled her close.
He grew to really like her, in only a week and a half.
She kept his mind off of Mina, who was going out with Marcus.
Ashton smiled to himself, knowing he would be just fine with Kayla.
